MrPhantom
Used to really like Chris Evans, listened to his early radio shows when he was genuinely interesting. Read both his autobiographies and he certainly came across as a talented bloke to me, if a little misguided. What a life he has led! Having said that, in recent years the guy has become irritating. Can't explain it. The wrong guy for the TG job in my opinion. Hope I'm proved wrong.
Oxon T
I really like him on radio 2 but cant watch him on TV for some reason. He looks arrogant and that doesn't come across so much on the radio i suppose.

LondonLuke
Clarkson & his pals did it because they were genuinely interested in cars. The little ginger idiot will only do it for cash. Seriously?! He has a car collection which is the envy of many car collectors and he uses them on a daily basis. He posts on Twitter what he is going to work in this week a DB5, last week a retro Fiat (500?). He just loves his cars As for doing it for the cash, he is worth over £50 million as it is! Davyo
When I took my son to silverstone in the Schumacher days,we where wandering around the VIP parking area and my boy was taking photos of all the cars.A Ferrari was just pulling out & Josh ran over but was too late, the car braked & the reverse lights came on.It was Chris Evans driving,he pulled back to where Josh was standing put the thumbs up and then lit up the tyres waving as he went. That made my sons weekend ,however on the TG front I can't imagine it without JC.It would be like going to see Queen without Freddie Mercury.I did hear some one the other day talking about that Jemeriqui chap( don't know if that the right name) but he's a proper petrol head & a nutter so might be a good replacement. Twistedsanity
I watched him on TFI last week and it reminded me of just how completely talentless he is , by all accounts a nice generous guy who gave millions of his own personal fortune away to charity and loves cars but also a talentless pillock
bruno22rf
Evans as a TG presenter?-count me out as a viewer.
norfolk dumpling
I like CE on radio but on TV he just doesn't do it for me. He does know his cars and has fantastic collection of Ferraris but having watched new TFI Friday I can't see this working. Will watch a couple but doubt it will survive. My point exactly, and he does tons of work for kids as well. I have sort of grown up with him, back in the day TFI used the be the highlight of some weeks before he went off the boil. I have read both his books and quite like the bloke, but... IF he does the show it won't be anything the old show. Oh and he is 6' 2" so not exactly 'little' either. He is ginger though - so at least you got that bit right
Lampwick
He's done well considering "he doesn't have any talent" I'm looking forward to it and if it has the added attraction of petrol head tottie

Flashman
It's Top Gear for a younger generation. Just as Clarkson & co. updated the format some dozen years ago, so Evans will do the same thing. The BBC has turned into the Evans cash cow: R2 in the morning, the One Show on Friday, now a weekly TV show. It's a bit too much Evans to be honest. Cranfield
Good luck to Chris Evans, I am sure the BBC will put a couple of co presenters with him that will appeal to many. Remember, not everyone liked Clarkson , May and Hammond and the latter two appeared to have little talent (especially May). In 5 years time people will be saying, "Jeremy who ?". Browning 425 clay hunter
I seem one of the few who doesn't mind Chris Evans, the way i look at it is even though it's going to be called top gear, it's not the top gear we all love to watch (and some love to slate). Evans is a massive petrol head, he's not doing it for the money and I wish him all the best and will watch it but it won't be anything like the old top gear. I'm more excited about what clarkson, Hammond and may will be doing once they sort out there own show. Either way both shows will be better than 5th gear. pimpkiller
What made top gear good was the 3 completely different older blokes talking rubbish in their different ways just like your mates do. Chris evans? With his ginger hair and souless dead eyes no thanks and if they bring in a woman no chance of any un-pc banter then. Im sure lots of peole will tune in just to see what they come up with and the bbc will claim it as a success but it will be rubbish Edited June 17, 2015 by pimpkiller
