Bangon
The lottery is changing again. I think for the worse. http://news.sky.com/story/1503243/big-changes-shrink-chance-of-lottery-win
Lloyd90
Some funny ploys for sure. Atm it seems to be a rollover all the bloody time, ending up with one lucky SoB winning £100million is a bit ridiculous as its such a huge amount. Maybe it would be better of more people won a % of that ?
Fuji Shooter
I would be better if there was no winner than the prizes moved down to 5 + the bonus Edited June 17, 2015 by Freakmode
Bangon
I would rather see 100 people winning £100K than someone winning daft millions. spread the love lottery!!
lord_seagrave
More tickets are purchased for rollovers than for regular draws. More rollovers = more revenue. LS
The Mighty Prawn
I only heard them on the news so don't know the whole story but they seemed to be saying by choosing from 59 numbers instead of 49 that your chances of winning improved? How does that work, have they reinvented maths?

Bazooka Joe
Just watched Sky News with their take on it. When this comes in in October (iirc) I think it'll be time to look elsewhere at other lottos,

old man
Camelot? just can't get enough? Just shows how much it pays to have friends in high places? Reportedly Branson would have run it on a cost cover basis but that wasn't good enough? Some bright spark? gave it away to Camelot to enable the Billions to keep flowing? IMHO, just one more example of Rip off Britain?

Danger-Mouse
£45 Million to one ....... What's the problem? Nothing . . . as long as the prizepool is £90 million plus.

norfolk dumpling
We don't know as yet what they will do to the lower value prizes but simplicity if you increase the number of numbers by a fifth then surely the chances of winning reduce by the same degree? No matter how they dress this up it comes over as a very bad step.
dead eye alan
When they increased the price double we went from 4 lines to 2 we now will drop it all to just one lucky dip on rollovers. Lousers.

Six from 49 is about 14 million to one, Six from 59 is more like 50 million to one
norfolk dumpling
Yep Vince, that was an observation before my first cup of tea had kicked in. Is this for definite then the likelihood of anyone winning a jackpot are very very very slim indeed. Their reasons for doing this (something I heard on the radio - I've not read anything official) was to increase the size of the rollover prizes but surely if this becomes huge but very infrequent, like every six months, it will be a huge turn-off. We do a couple of tickets every week for fun. If/when this happens we won't bother.
