rjimmer
Lidl had Kangaroo steaks recently, a bit tougher than the Ostrich steaks. I missed the Alligator steaks, which I was told they were better than the others.

TONY R
An impressive list of cullinary delights there islandgun, i have tried gulls eggs and coot jay and rook as a kid, we did have a try at squirel after reading about eating squirels in an ancient mutch thumbed copy of american rifleman magazine. But dispite our best efforts to folow the resipie we bottled out at the last moment and the Spaniel we had with us got the full benefit of our labours. Again as kids we used to listen in awe at my mates dads tales of eating rats when he was in a Japanese prisoner of war camp, his permenent state of ill health brought about by his ordeal put us off the idea of trying rat for ourselves. figgy
Medium rare fur burger. Regularly used to eat tripe and cows udder as a child, not anymore. Eaten tinned dog food not bad tasting. In Spain I once had a dish called sepia blanco, squid or cuttlefish flung on a hot plate with a bit of garlic and butter for seconds and plopped on a plate eeew had a membrane that even after chewing a mouthful when you swallowed some it was still attached to what was still in your mouth, my gag reflex went haywire and my mates ran. oowee
Eat the same oyster four times at the oyster fair in Woburn. I think those next to me decided they maybe did not want to order any. In Berlin for a few days and last night went to an indoor street food market lots of unknown stuff but all delicious.

Mentalmac
Weird BBQ'd insects on sticks in a market whilst in the far East... (amongst other things) Lamb Testicles in Greece - cooked on coals, one of those 'you need to try this' from clients of mine. Albeit the worst thing I've eaten which I wouldn't wish upon anyone else was Peruvian Cerviche in the London restaurant 'Lima' as it's basically just raw white fish in a mix of lime juice and other bits which after eating this cold raw fish you traditionally have to drink the contents of the bowl... yuck. old'un
Very mild compared to old'un, but the best fish and chips I've ever had was in Aden; the fish being barracuda steak. Not really, at the end of the day its all just protein, some of the things I have tried were back in the late 50s early 60s (my air rifle/410 years). when I was a young lad we would go camping and set-up the tent in any grass field we took a liking to, we got moved on a few times by the land owners but most were very friendly and let us stay, it was my early hunter gatherer years and we would try to survive on what we could shoot or catch once the jam sandwiches and pop had been consumed, the Swans egg was fried and me and my mates would dip bread into the yolk, lovely. The Starlings, Blackbirds and Sparrows were de-breasted and fried with a bit of bacon and put on a slice of bread that had been dipped in the fat. I guess the worst was the boiled Moorhen, it was like chewing a tennis ball. It was all good fun trying to survive on what we could shoot or catch, young boys trying to be men in more innocent times.
