Lord Geordie
You now have to work until your 105! That's bad enough, but now they also spend the last 35 years repeatedly beating you around the head, and stealing your savings too!
subsonicnat
The VULTURES are already gathering to get their hands on the pension pots. Why would you need somone to manage your pension,There will be some wailing before much longer.. All these bankers, companys going bust and useing your pension to bolster their errors in management. NEVER LET ANYONE NEAR YOUR PENSION,,,You Have been Warned..
walshie
I have nothing but hate for DWP. When my mother died, it was obviously a harrowing enough time but they put a hold on everything while they investigated exactly why they had overpaid her pension and by how much. After making me wait for 9 months, they sent my solicitor a nice bill for £8k.
jonny thomas
Does anyone (other than civil servants who retire at 32 with a final salary pention)actually need a pention now that retirement age is roughly in line with life expectancy

kernel gadaffi
Several weeks ago an employee of said organisation, made a cock up but doing something they shouldn't have, the result was, l have gone 8 weeks without any money, inept and unemployable in the private sector. bruno22rf
After retiring form work due to ill health it took them 15 months to process my independent living allowance - for those 15 months my income was £50/month - without the wife's money I would have been in dire straights. Royal22lr
Full choke best go and see your MP.. MPs enquiry are delt with within 5 days. Sadly CAB volunteers have to use same telephone numbers as general public MPs have specific Whitehall civil servants to deal with these issues.. DWP are not fit for purpose. Good luck Malcolm
Bobba
Full choke best go and see your MP.. MPs enquiry are delt with within 5 days. Sadly CAB volunteers have to use same telephone numbers as general public MPs have specific Whitehall civil servants to deal with these issues.. DWP are not fit for purpose. Good luck Malcolm One up from this is to start Ministers Correspondence. Google Cabinet Ministers to identify the appropriate Minister. Write politely to him / her explaining the position factually with copies of relevant correspondence (if any). Avoid slanging off the DWP (it gets you nowhere) and conclude your correspondence by saying " as your staff members seem unwilling to provide any response to my questions would you please do so" Civil servant heads of department bat off MP's correspondence as routine. Ministers correspondence is a different ball game altogether. Departmental heads / Chief Executves hate Ministers correspondence with a vengeance as it draws them personally to the attention of their Minister. It worked for me when dealing with the affairs of my late mother-in-law and is based on advice provided by a Senior Civil Servant friend. anser2
Does anyone (other than civil servants who retire at 32 with a final salary pention)actually need a pention now that retirement age is roughly in line with life expectancy As an ex civil servant the early retirement age is 60 not 32. As for the final pension being a full final salary that may happen to a very few , but after 20 years mine was 1\3 final salary when I retired this year after heart problems and a stroke at 63 years old. The real people too blame is the Tory govenment not the CS. My department had its staff cut by 30% over the last 5 years and is being cut now again by 28%. How can any organisation be expected to function with increasing work loads as more of the working population retire with its staff being cut by over half. The civil service gets the blame , but its the Tory govenment that's causing the problem. Edited September 14, 2016 by anser2

The Tory Government are a symptom but not the cause..it was the labour fiscal policy that got these civil departments in such a mess... spending millions they didn't have...continually dipping into the sweet jar until guess what ...no sweets ! Anyway Adge doesn't do politics so I will leave it at that. Edited September 14, 2016 by Adge Cutler

shaun4860
hello, yes from past experience it is like a mine field, Decried ( if that is the right word ?) by the TORY Goverment and a company call ATOS ATOS then made such a hash of it that they then lost the contract, Then for some unknown reason (or greasing of palms) they then got the contract back again, French company deciding on whether you are disabled or not, Hate them with a passion, They have just lost in court for the second time after appeal my friends claim, Inoperable brain tumour causing loss of sight in one eye and constant disabling headaches.... They are a joke!!
Lord O War
A friends dad had a run in with ATOS over his disability. They wanted an interview with him, I'm not sure why as he is missing half a leg and it hasn't grown back, any way the letter gave the location and he checked out said location. Turns out it was approx a mile from the nearest parking, red route so no stopping near by, and it was something like the 5th floor in a building with no lifts. Anyway he said re-arrange with a more suitable location or he wasn't going, he got a letter back to say he didn't need to go. It got us thinking though, would he have been declared "fit" had he actually made it there somehow? I am really surprised at all these health initiatives they keep having, you know check your balls, send some poo off in the post to see if you have *** cancer etc because as far as I can see the Gov must consider the ideal citizen ( or are we subjects?) to be the one that dies the day before they collect their pension. My Aunt is a retired deputy head teacher and her school pension is about the same as my basic wage, when you add on her state pension she is on a very good take home, I wish my wages were that good!
