Long range rabbit control

How the heck did you even see the rabbits from that far away? What scope are you using?

How much energy does the .223 have at those sort of ranges? Surprised nobody has come on to say you should have used a .222! :D

Hey fella.

I'm using a Swarovski X5 5-25.

The way I see this calibre to quarry suitability argument is that if the backstop is safe and the selected bullet produces humane kills (adequate expansion) then there's no issue. The attaction for me is to use a level of skill to make accurate shots at longer ranges. I don't shoot at ranges where it's not possible (due to lack of accuracy or difficult winds) to make a prompt corrected follow up shot if required. The latter has no interest to me.

All the best.

Si

Great shooting how long as taken you to get this stage of accurate shooting i am very impressed thank you

Thanks for the nice comments. I've been shooting longer ranges for probably around 7-8 years now. With an accurate rifle and load it's a case of using a ballistic app and wind reading. It's not as difficult as some think once you have the correct gear and can apply a few fundamentals.
