TIGHTCHOKE
It's easy to be a "great" driver when uYou always have the best car and only 1 other driver to beat, Yes he is a very good driver but a lousy human, as you can see I'm not a Lewis fan..... He is arrogant and selfish....think back to Wimbledon where he was asked to wear a tie to get into the Royal box.....refused even when they offered to lend him one even though he knew the dress code before he attended...... Just can't stand the bloke....... That's my tuppence worth.... At least you are consistent! I think the loss of the steadying influence of his Father is starting to show through. He is a great driver, he does deserve a Knighthood but he does need to lose a bit of the current image. bostonmick
He drives a car for which he is paid a ridiculous amount of money for.but also because he likes to drive.there are surgeons who save lives everyday pilots who fly into war zones.they do not get knighted for doing their job which they chose so why should he who turned his back on this country for purely selfish reasons.money. Dunkield
Hamilton gets a slagging for his manner and appearance - he is a British World Champion. Compare the rather OTT Floyd Mayweather - is he less arrogant? I can't imagine Floyd adhering to a dress code. A code invented by someone who owned a tie factory. The USA cherish their winners, whereas it seems a British trait to look for fault. Pretty well how I see it too. I admit I don't follow F1 that closely any more as I find it all a bit boring these days, but didn't he make the jump to Mercedes when they weren't actually that good? Also remember part of the reason cars become the best is down to feedback from decent drivers.
Pistol p
Hamilton is doing pretty well this year, he's smashing the statistics and driving well. But, yes, he needs a haircut.
rimfire4969
Once again a British world champion gets slagged off. His team mate has the same car! but is Bottas going to be champion this year? He has been out driven is just about every race and qualification. Just about every successful formula 1 driver has at some time had a tax haven in Monaco, including Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo, Button, and Verstappen. This does not mean they actually live there. The rest of your post I agree with totally , be nice if he kept his feet as flat on the ground as the tyres on the car ... walshie
Got nothing against him really. Undoubtedly he's an excellent driver and seems decent guy. I just wish he'd stop the flouncing and blaming everyone else when things don't go his way.
AVB
Regarding tax. There are 20 Grand Prix's in a season of which only one is in the UK. Therefore why should Hamilton feel obliged to pay tax on 19/20ths of his income when it is earned overseas? Any sensible person in his position would also move to Monaco. Well said Walshie, I think he comes across as a really poor sports man/person!. last year i felt his attitude was very poor indeed
Scotty1980
Is it me just being an old ****, or is Lewis Hamilton starting to embarrass himself with all that bling and a ladies hairdo? Cant criticise his skills, as he's a top driver, but does he need to turn into Danny La Rue Completely agree, turning into a proper little freak show! And he is a little whinging *****
itchy trigger
Completely agree, turning into a proper little freak show! And he is a little whinging ***** cannot understand why Mercedes never sacked him when he disobeyed team orders. the team comes first, not their employee he intimidates his team co driver on the track, its worked on Bottas, didn't work with Rosberg last year though did it. he is not in the same class as Sir Jackie Stewart a true ambassador

I have many times and he is a prize ****. Talk about being up ones own ****. Lot's of demands such as having to be picked up in a Merc S class, wants to be fast racked through security etc.
Scotty99
I think he should reside in the U.K. and pay his taxes here like the rest of us. As for a knighthood, jog on.

figgy
There is no getting past he can drive but I dont like him, he is very arrogant and comes over as a spoilt brat that its not fair when it dont go his way. Whining on the radio to his team. Button and Coulthard were more gentlemanly and better ambassadors for the sport in my eyes. I dont watch much F1 now as I find it very boring, all the characters have gone and its now the PlayStation generation. Gordon R
figgy - totally agree about Button and Coultard, but Hamilton is a way better driver. I don't take to him, but admire his single mindedness. On a personal level, Button is head and shoulders above most of the sporting world.
