figgy
Noticed tonight on a drive past the marshes the number of Widgeon building on the tidal creeks. Had my fist Widgeon this season on Sunday mornings flight. Ring on some rain to get the slashes filled up and some good flights might be had. motty
Blimey, Figgy. They're a bit late getting up your way. There's been plenty on the wash for a little while. At least you're off the mark now, and hopefully you can get a few bags filled.

marsh man
Up to around three years Widgeon out numbered any other form of wildfowl on our estuary and surrounding marshes , then for the first time a couple of years ago the Pinkfoot took the number one slot , now there are already far more geese in our area than duck . Widgeon numbers will build up over the next few weeks with the maximum numbers expected around Christmas but like most places they do move around in severe weather conditions trying to find open and milder habitat . Be patient , your turn will come
