Ex Farmer 11
Hi all, Hope you all had a good Xmas. I’m after your views on clay cartridges. I usually shoot with Hull Comp x 28g fibre. Whilst I find them absolutely fine, I was wondering if there were any other cartridges at a similar price point that you would recommend? Stephen-H
Hull superfast 27gram 7.5s are a good cartridge also eley select are good they come in various loads 21,24,28gram & shot sizes both around the 175-190 a thousand I believe unless they have gone up again. Gordon R
I thought all shell prices were now over the £200 mark for a thousand.

Spr1985
Another vote for the gamebore velocity+ I have been shooting them in 7.5’s and 8’s at clays for the last two years plastic and fibre variants and they break clays when I put the shot in the correct place

I really don’t know the prices of cartridges as I just pay up for those I prefer. 9 minutes ago, sam triple said: Super fast or Eley Ambers , tried velocity found them dirty and punchy I know everyone is different, but a mate tried the Amber cartridges through his XS Pro and found them to be a bit punchy. Mind you, he was on a sim’ day at the time.

TIGHTCHOKE
But, with every cartridge whether cheap or expensive, you still have to put the pattern in the right place.

The XS Pro is a heavy ish gun so his remarks surprised me, but in his defence he did get through over 300 of them on that day! 🙂

Spanish Trust cartridges in the 28g no7 are also a great budget cartridge.
