True enough, and I understand your point. Reform do seem to be phoning it in a bit. But you could vote for an independent (if you have that option) or draw a male chicken on your ballot paper? Again, maybe somebody will notice.

My current MP, a Tory, has actually done a pretty good job as far as I can tell - he's helped me, been visible in the area, tried to influence local causes etc. I like the man, but not the party.

Think it's more of a question resource allocation -  In a Notts safe labour seat, would be foolish to spend too much.

So much this.  Not voting isn't counted.  Spoiled ballot/None of the above is counted.

, his LinkIn profiles are virtually blank, his Facebook has virtually nothing.

I dunno, seems like a good reason to vote for him!

My local reform candidate seems to be the polar opposite, local boy born and bred. But he doesn’t appear to be the best at written communication - the parts of his leaflet written by him were a poorly worded, grammatically incoherent mess.  Needless to say he didn’t respond to the BASC email.

As Rewulf says above. Also, our local reform candidate doesn't even live in Wales - he's in England. Not exactly local.

It would be worth noting that due to the snap election and non-performance of the vetting company, Reform were pushed to find candidates for some seats asap, the alternative would be seats with no one to vote for........

I did consider that, but there is large support for Reform in this area generally, maybe not this constituency, but the surrounding ones.
This candidate gives an address in Derby, but says he lives in Coventry, and mentions no ties to the area at all, business or otherwise.
There was no one else they could have used ?

Is he also from what one might reasonably consider an ethnic minority?

I would love to see Reform overtake the bloody pointless liberal Democrats and their twit of a Leader Sir Ed Davey.

That's a clown worthy of a 3 ring circus?

I think there is a fair chance of lies coming out from all of them, most not being able to define either in their rush for the trough.

I was going to nip in before work this morning and vote for my local Reform candidate, then I made the mistake of checking him out, now Im not going to bother voting at all.
Not that he was ever going to win, Notts north has been a labour safe seat for decades, high levels of unemployment , poverty and crime, underwritten by the totally labour controlled council that is one of the worst in the country.
I just wanted Reform to get as many votes as possible, but their selection of this candidate makes no sense to me at all.
His name is Golam Kadiri, he doesnt and has never lived in any part of Nottinghamshire, describes himself as an entrepreneur, but sell 2nd hand cars, he was born and educated in Bangladesh.
In a 90% white working class area, racist connotations aside, why would the locals vote for someone that has no connection to the area whatsoever? You could walk into any pub in the area and pick a random bloke, and he would do better at garnering support.

I can only think he has a 'mate' in the party who put him forward using the business connection part of the electoral conditions.
Reform need to do better.

It's probably because he was the only candidate they could get after the snap election.

I'm sure reform will have ironed out the current issues by the next election and the more votes they get the better in my view, even if some of the candidates are a bit iffy at present.

Fuel escalator gets my vote every time.

Unfortunately no vote for me.

Whole family went down en masse and voted for Reform - as a life long conservative, it’s the only opportunity I have to let conservative high command know just how hacked off I am.

If Reform weren’t fielding a candidate I would have spoilt the ballot paper.

Oh and here’s the letter I wrote to my local MP during one of the later nonsense covid lockdowns - before the ppe scandal, the sham that was the covid enquiry, party-gate, Truss, the party destroying itself, the economic / cost of living crisis, interest rates, the small boats, the Rwanda pipe dream, the failure to tackle the culture wars the total waste of an 80 seat majority and so on.

I can't believe ITV have got Nicola Sturgeon on the Panel, but they can't ask her things 🙄🙄

But it's looking like SNP are getting a kicking. Little victories.

Interesting choice of language there and no, that’s not what I said.

If you look as the results Reform got over 4,000,000 votes but the Liberal democrats only had 3,500,000 but won 71 seat,'s ?.

Wasn't it them that were always pushing for proportional representation?

I wonder if they're still so keen.
