enfieldspares
If it is true now then it was true back when it was done. Yet the man is dead so cannot defend himself. Guilt determined before investigation but after allegation by the Carl Beech method and as a result of the failures regarding Saville. Who also is dead. The pendulum has swung from a dismissive "no evidence no proof" when it came to people in high places with "friends at Court" through a proper and correct "every complaint will be investigated" to the recent doctrine, it seems, of "every complaint will be believed". marsh man
According to The Telegraph ( so it must be right ) he is alleged to have raped five women and abusing at least 15 others , might well have done, but why bring it out into the open now instead of when it took place MM

Gordon R
Probably bringing up now because there is no Al Fayed to dispute the "facts". When i read the quote from their barrister, I recognised greed when I saw it.

I can see the number of females who have said they came in contact with Mr Fayed wandering hand are only going to go one way and that is upwards . 12gauge82
If the reporting is to be believed. The fact multiple women unknown to each other have come forwards with similar stories of alleged sexual assault and rape sounds very damming. oldypigeonpopper
Hello, Watching this last night I cannot imagine the fear and mental anguish those ladies were put through in their early years starting out in working life only to be assaulted and in the worse possible for a female , The interviews showed it still affects their mental health and daily life, Rape must be one of the most Heinous crimes that can be afflicted on women and men, I have a family member who was attacked in her teens and still suffers many years later
Gordon R
Al Fayed was referred to the CPS in the 1990s. No action was taken. Who was in charge - Keir, neither this case or Jimmy Savile's file ever crossed my desk - I was on holiday at the time - Starmer. 🙂

JohnfromUK
A friend's son worked for Harrods in Fayed's time there. Although I don't recall him mentioning any accusations similar to the present ones emerging, Fayed was apparently unpredictable and could have a nice and generous nature one day and be an outright bully the next. He was not liked.
Vince Green
20 hours ago, TIGHTCHOKE said: Not a lot of point, he died last year. Which is why it's coming out now. The rich have the best lawyers. I knew about Fayed, I thought it was common knowledge? Certainly no big secret. He was charged with groping a 15 year old in 2008 and bought his way out of trouble. It was dropped by Starmer when he was head of CPS. Presumably a too hot to handle case

12gauge82
I think it really raises questions about our society and the balance of power between 'ordinary' people and the rich.
