It definitely looks like a sustained violent attack, he only stopped because other members of the public intervened.

Going by the CCTV, the man he attacks does not look to be acting in a violent manner, and the MP makes no attempt to walk away. He then attacks the guy, (who's hands are down, maybe in his pockets), when his attention is elsewhere.

This definitely looks to be assault!

Is the threat gone once on the ground?
The armed policeman at Manchester airport didn’t seem to think so. And as far as I know he hasn’t been prosecuted (correct me if I’m wrong but I haven’t heard anything to say that he has).
I am not condoning what he did, all I am saying is that there may be more to it than a loss of temper. But I’m sure we will find out in time.

Not the same circumstances at all.

You’re absolutely right, it’s not the same circumstance. It does however illustrate the point that just because someone is on the floor they can still be viewed, and treated as a threat.

The MP is seen and heard saying "You will not threaten this MP anymore" would suggest the guy who got put to the ground had threatened the MP.

All very interesting and I await the outcome of the Police enquiry.

I often wonder if these video clips of MP's wrong doing ever ends up on American news TV channels and what to the Americans think of this stuff..............

i bet Putin watches stuff like this and the Chinese premier ...and they roar /laugh their mammeries off

its quite embarrassing really ............

think of all the shenanigans that have gone on over the years......Presscot........and john major having a knee trembler with the egg woman in #10...........then.all the sexual goings on caught on security video's....and the latest slugfest yesterday......and even the awful optics of eating a messy bacon sandwich by a jewish extraction MP............

all very embarrasing

Will be interesting? Out on the floor with no visible means of causing harm......he wins?

Sounds contrived maybe?

this is getting messy.............it is suggested that he was set up...by a couple of guys who were trawling him during the evening...and one of them was quite happy to film his mate getting lamped by the MP (drunk).....

whatever happened he should have walked away and bit his tongue.......but that is easy for me/us to say...

Just because it’s not visible doesn’t mean it’s not there though. Who knows what was said? I’m sure it will all come out soon enough.

It turns out that the man that was hit by the MP was just standing at a taxi rank waiting for a taxi and the MP walked up to him.

The MP's version is that he was the one that was accosted and punched in self defence but that is becoming more implausible by the minute.

CCTV doesn't lie

Have the peelers lifted him yet?

Sounds like the machine working to cover his rear?

The only people that walk away are those with a SGC/FAC 😅😅

If he has been hassled and its happened before and he's clearly been set up then I hope the guys get pulled, but it's probably wishful thinking.

find it interesting that he has been such a stalwart for prosecuting those who commit assault.

Hoisted by his own tabard?
