Wow a suspension I bet he's terrified. I suppose he will be celebrating he wasn't remanded like some of the rioters where.

I guess losing his pay won't be a problem then?

The rest is upto the Police and the court.

Reminds me of the Knight in the Monty Python film.

Come back and I’ll bite yer legs off

Strangely enough, it reminded me of Monty Python too when we were considering what could possibly have been said to provoke the physical attack....

He used to live next door but one to a mate of mine!! I was lucky as I was there (the high street) on Monday evening. A few days earlier and it might have been me on the receiving end 😂😂

Oh I can't believe anyone would want to punch you....................................:cool1:

I'm definitely on the side of, he won't see a day in prison.

You would have to build a lot of jails if that deserves a custodial sentence. He most definitely should not be an MP any more though.

But this government will lock people up for posting hurty words on social media....

It was a sustained attack on an unsuspecting victim, he only stopped his assault when people intervened. I've seen people go to prison for far less, saying that, I've seen people do far worse and never see a day inside.

I think it will give the MP a chance to tell his side of the story, it will also bring the chap knocked downs version of events and if he was following the MP and goading him that will be worth its weight in gold at the trial.

What he did was WRONG, but there may well be a lot to come out in the wash.

IMHO, it's assault plain and simple. No-one can hopefully be allowed on the streets to punch and kick the carp out of another?

The point of self defence in any case ceased when the assaulted bloke was on the floor.

Hello, It seems the man was no threat to this MP from what i have read , If that is correct together with another point i read the MP was drunk then the Court should take this into account and deal with him as i put in my last post, Prison/Fine.Compensation, and last sacked as a Labour MP
