Well at least I tried , was it worth it ? , no not really , I done far to much for one and wasn't really hungry time it was done , I ate over half on my plate and you know who finished it off , I have got enough left for at least two more teas with bits and pieces added to it , so be gentle on me if not you will see Red or Yellow cards instead of Christmas ones , Enjoy the rest of your day :drinks:

Many THANKS for your kind words , I done my best but it still don't feel quite right at the moment sitting here by myself eating my Christmas dinner , still tomorrow is another day and I will have my traditional walk around the marshes in the morning and then around my relations in the afternoon for a little while before I head down the marsh again to see if the odd duck is about , something I have always done and you never know how much longer the ole body can still do it, anyhow thanks for taking the time to reply and I hope you all had a decent day .:good:

Well done especially as this is a difficult time for you (I know how hard it is) anyway it’s not a Christmas dinner unless you have tons left over and to make you feel better here’s mine and imagine what I have leftover

a recipe for leftover turkey

slice the meat and freeze it in portions big enough for two meals

when you want to use some take it out and thaw

1 tin mushroom soup into a casserole dish add thawed turkey fry a chopped onion and spread on top add some cooked carrots leftover from the day before then top it off with mashed potato leftover from the day before grate some cheese on top

in the oven fairly hot for about 30 minutes and then serve

Turkey shepherds pie

so you’re not cooking too much your preparing for the next meal 😊

All the best

Yea that would be a good night , I have got a few cans in and you and anyone else would be welcome whenever you were passing  , I remember of all things looking around the graveyard in Sutton Bridge , the graveyard is full of well known wildfowlers like Mc Kenzie Thorpe , Sid Wright and many more , how I would had liked to had been in there company when burning the midnight oil with empty cans lying everywhere and the air thick with baccy smoke , my kind of night out .  MM

I think you've said it before,,,, reading stuff on here, and 'chatting' to each other, is like being in a cosy pub with your mates,,,, I'm the quiet one in the corner 🍺😆

Anyway,,,, rest assured that a lot of us are thinking of you 🤗 👍:drinks:

The forum have been a godsend this last year , I have always considered myself as a hard type of person and yet I sometimes get a lump in my throat when genuine offers of help come from complete strangers , some I have met and others I am never likely to meet and yet the offers are still there , as you know this haven't have been a very good year both health wise and the problem I had with the water leak and yet with the help from people like yourself I am still here and think the tide is started to turn for the better, so all I can do is to offer my sincere thanks to one and all and hope I can meet one or two more in person in the coming new year  .   MM

Morning John, well that turkey looks like it is cooked to perfection, I would happily eat that if you put it in front of me. :good:

What size turkey was it? Did you not think about a turkey crown?

Good morning old'un and I hope your Christmas went well , unless I had to much Lucozade or you had to much Sherry in your Christmas pudding the so called Turkey was in fact a corn fed Chicken , although with my lack of taste buds it could well have tasted like a Turkey , not sure how big it was but it said roast for around 2hrs 10 minutes at 200 , good job I kept an eye on it as it was well and truly done in around 1hr 40min , today I am having Chicken casserole , tomorrow Chicken soup , the next day Chicken sandwiches , followed by Chicken this and that until the new year

I am now about to get to work on cleaning all the pots , pans , dishes and plates so I might be off air for quite a while:drinks:

Blimey that's a big chicken, the last 3 years we have had a large chicken as usually its just me and the wife but this year we decided to get a small turkey 3.5kg it was ok but think we will go back to chicken next year, if I am still here that is. :)

200c for 2hr 10min seems a bit high to me? is it a fan oven?
