djrwood
Afternoon gents, literally got caught speeding about an hour ago, doing 41 in a 30. I know I was wrong for speeding and all that but just wondered if anyone here has any knowledge of whether how they caught me was legal They were parked down a side road meaning their car was completely hidden, and the copper was also stood behind a line of two parked cars. I didn't even see him till he walked out in the road to get me to stop! I was under the illusion that they must be visible when performing these speed checks? Any advice or correction would be appreciated! Thanks
Dougy
Were the 30mph signs hidden too ;-) You do realise you're going to get some stick off PW , I just thought I would get the ball rolling.

chady
Did they use a hand held speed gun?? If so was there two of them present?
toontastic
I didn't even see him till he walked out in the road Would that also be your defence if you had hit someone while speeding.
Gordon R
If you go down the road of not seeing the Policeman, you are adding "Driving without due care and attention" to the speeding offence. Quit whilst you are ahead.
redogi73
There should be signs to warn that it is a police check area and your right they are meant to be visible, however good luck contesting it and getting a copper to admit he was hiding out of sight. Unless your going to loose your licence because you've got points already just pay up early and avoid further costs and points, if it's going to cost your license get yourself a decent solicitor soon and start contesting it. All the best Redogi
Remimax
is it still a £60 fine and 3 points or has it gone up. Edited May 24, 2014 by Remimax
malkiserow
I would just explain it was all an unfortunate mistake and if you had not been drinking all afternoon then you might have looked at your speedo..... worth a try
Fuddster
So the cop stepped out from behind a park car-you mean just like a kid running out behind a parked car? Cough up and slow down. F.

kingo15
Take the points and pay the fine. More importantly slow down its 30 for a reason.
robbiep
41 in a 30 ? And then you come on here hoping that someone will give you some advice as to how to get out of it ? Lots of us have got kids, you know. Personally, a fair bit over the limit like that, I'd be happy to see them take you to court for a harsher penalty than the base 3 pts / £60 fine
team tractor
is it still a £60 fine and 3 points or has it gone up. £100 now

Disco Stu
I would ignore the PW police. Forget all the man down the pub baloney about there should be signs, or you should be able to see them or there must be 2 officers there it is rubbish. Where you stopped at the roadside and given a verbal Notice of Intended Prosecution? 41 in a 30 might mean a trip to court, what constabulary was it? Have a look on the pepipoo speeding forum http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=5 There is no magic get out of jail free card, you will have to accept the punishment as it is dished out. Try slowing down a bit in future and being more observant, good luck!

bunnykiller
Wait till your renewal. Too irresponsible to stick to speed limits, are you responsible enough to hold a shotgun cert? these are the questions the feo will ask.
