Paul taylor
morning all. started out at 2am today with the intention of checking a newly cut field for rabbit's, nowt doing at all, saw 4 cats though so must be something on there for them to hunt so quick trip down m1 to my regular haunt see if my luck changes. Scared a few rabbits off with the torch (would have put the NV scope back on but main target today maggies) shot really bad to be honest not judging range or windage well at all :( but eventually bagged a bunny for the dogs dinner then off for a coffee and set up my magpie decoys ready for the ambush. Two frozen real birds and one decoy near the barn and slurry pit. You can see in the background the silage mound I laid on with face veil on under a piece of hide net using the tires as a rifle rest. I laid watching nature come to life with the dawn praying my trick would work half hour later customer no 1 came and sat on the gutter for all of 5 seconds before falling another 10 mins and along came 3 more 2 of them falling then 10 mins later it went crazy they where coming in from all angles some on the roofs some on the floor chattering at there fallen mates. I couldn't belive they stayed while I rummaged in my pockets reloading the mag but they did. had 11 in all 1 stuck too high up on roof for me to pick. was on way to put rifle in van when I spotted mr Jackdaw on a pole so he got it too. Packed up and stood watching the world come to a very sunny start while finishing my flask loads of pigeon about and still a few magpie too so not stuck for another days sport. a great start to a lovely day, taking the family fishing later so it don't get much better! Hope you like the pics. Atb P.T Edited July 27, 2014 by Paul taylor

I know what you mean. Only just managed to get the larsen up and running, 13 magpies in the last week. Today, a whole troop of long-tailed tits in the big beech tree in our front field, while myself and my wife were having a bite of lunch . It felt like a reward, beautiful little creatures
