39TDS
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-30702344 It would scare me to fire a gun in a lift. Not the best plan. (yes I know it was an accident, yes I know he could have been killed, etc etc)

shootgun
It could be worse... Was very lucky to shoot himself in a lift, not in the head....

GingerCat
Tightchoke, that's how you carry a pistol when you're a cop/soldier . It's no good pulling it out and then cocking it when there's rounds coming you're way and fractions of seconds count. His weapon handling could do with a bit of a polish though and I'm surprised he didn't get penetration at that range as it's hardly reinforced steel. No doubt the lift jokes will go another 3 pages
Whitebridges
The whole thing is floored and it's been elevated to another level.

happy.plinker
Nowt to do with the story but a friend of mine went into a lift with his wife and pointed to the sign 'no bags allowed' he gave a smutty chuckle and wondered what to do...... His wife told him to grow up, we all had a smutty laugh too when he told us.
The Mighty Prawn
It looks like he was removing it from the holster to put in his fleece pocket which seems slightly bizarre?
STOTTO
Really! He was in a lift with his wife! Yes really, ‘Cocked and Locked’, brain in gear, however in this guy’s case, brain in neutral engine off! Or perhaps, ‘caught on camera’ misintended target!! Lord Geordie
His life must have been full of up's and down's! That elevator music is enough to drive ANY man to shooting himself!
ordnance
He is an idiot, probably a Glock round in chamber no safety catch and putting it in his pocket.
la bala
That lift was going down faster than the speed of a bullet, hence no penetration.

Mungler
Anyone see this on the news last night? http://news.sky.com/story/1394366/cctv-shows-police-shoot-out-on-london-streets Very brave copper to fire and move forward on someone known to have a real gun and who was returning fire. Proper policing - bravely going after someone serious. This is the face of policing we don't see; most normal people only get to see the tax collectors on the side of the road lifting £80 off us for 36 in a 30. Fuddster
Heroic effort by the copper. now just wait for a post slating him off for not putting a round centre mass due to incompetent shooting, poor training etc. f.
