cpaulc
Just perusing youtube and found this, took a screen shot just for everyone's ease. Thoughts on the shooting positions during a driven shoot where adrenaline is running high? https://youtu.be/vr6hynpnb_gg

scotslad
I'd guess more likely to be Europe on a deer drive, seen similar happen when out with foxhounds even the most experienced guns can get to xcited at times and swing through often from wot i've seen of european game drives ur oftn in a raised stand for that reason, or very far apart
rodp
They'll be fine, looks like they've got hi-vis and hard hat on, and we all know elf and safety reckon you're bomb proof so long as you wear one on those.

Dougy
Nowt wrong with that. Just in case you didn't notice, they are both wearing hi-visit vests. So they would be fine. Sorry rob. But I've been there myself in Croatia. There's a clip I put on you tube similar to that. Edited January 3, 2016 by Dougy

Why keep knocking America? How often have you been shooting over there? I have shot there regularly, never had a problem. Never seen a high vis vest used either. pork chop
Watched that yesterday ,cant say I'd like to be in that position myself. The poster of the video defended it in his comments saying it was perfectly safe
The Mighty Prawn
I've watched quite a few driven hunts on YouTube and a moment like this is included in most of them! It is terrifying really - fieldsports Britain showed a moment on theirs when the guy dropped a boar and then right behind it came a few beaters and dogs who were clearly a few seconds from a 30-06 suppository
kent
New Zealand compiled it's shooting accidents a while in order to improve things. Remarkable the cause of most were silly fixable stuff like this

Dougy
So you've been there and survived. Don't push your luck too much mate!I have never been in a position that I thought I was in danger of getting any injury. I have tracked a Boar through the scope and seen a hi-vis in the scope whilst doing so. I didn't think for 1 mili second to squeeze the trigger at that point. One reason why we go with people we know and trust. I know its am seen as a wind up wee taker allot of times, but there is a serious sensible side to me you know ;-) Edited January 3, 2016 by Dougy

Dougy
My turn to wind you up. No offence meant. Will you be at Garlands at the end of the month?I didn't take it as a wind up :-) just that for many that have never used a rifle in such a way,( it's not the done thing in the UK to swing a rifle round.) it's automatically classed as unsafe. If I could see the full clip then it would show me a bit more of the picture. I may have had a word with the one or both of them if I was there and a witness to it. No can't get that weekend. :-( Edited January 3, 2016 by Dougy
