Konnie
Doing some work today and saw my first swallow of the year, client said it arrived Thursday 31 March. In 2014 was 10 april, and last year was 6 april. Summer is here.

mudpatten
Saw my first swallow yesterday whilst pigeon shooting. The hedgerows were heaving with chiffchaffs and the background sound track to a tractor working two fields across was the unmistakable call of Mediterranean gulls. Mind you, they were svelt compared to what came out of the Tivolis at Rotherham on 20p a pint nights

400_racer
We saw a canary in the top of a hedgerow tree whilst walking the fields yesterday, that's normally a sure sign summer is here, right? ;-) Not something you see everyday and not sure how long it might last but nice to see. Need to find out if anyone's lost one, though finding it again and then actually catching it would be another matter I guess!

stumfelter
Saw my first swallow yesterday while decoying. Also skylarks giving it large and a yellowhammer serenading us with a "little bit of bread and no cheeeese", lovely day but the pigeon didn't want to play. Heard a chiffchaff as well but no cuckoo yet.
