No matter what you think of firearms and firearms ownership this petition is one that you should consider worthy of consideration purely on the basis of it will be another erosion of our right to be democratically consulted. Where will it end. Shall the Home Office only consult with the police on a raft of other legislation if this goes unchallenged. I suspect that the Home Office/Government are hoping that with many people being anti-firearms this will get through Parliament unchallenged. You have a choice, stay silent and let this get through but don't complain when your right to be consulted on matters that concern you is removed. Thank you.

Done. The UK is stealthily being transformed into a dictatorship and a police state. Senior civil servants and some chief constables would love to ban private firearms ownership. Can you see this Bill being greeted with anything but howling protests in the States? The NRA would be all over it like a rash.

I just had a look at many of the orgs that should be on the case. I looked at >> CPSA, NRA, CA, NSRA, The British Deer Society and basc and there isnt anything about this at all. On the NSRA site there was a thing about being in consultation with others and the Metropolitan police >> TO >>>>The purpose of the IAG is threefold. First, it provides a medium through which the concerns and issues of the shooting community can be channelled to the Met's FET. Second, it provides a significant repository of knowledge and expertise in all the key shooting disciplines upon which members can draw. Third, it provides a means through which the police can inform the key shooting groups of developments and points of issue.

Chief Supt Mike Gallagher of the Specialist Firearms Command said: "The development of the IAG for Firearms Licensing in London is an exciting and innovative development which will help foster mutual understanding, help manage risk and enhance the service we provide to the shooting community.". THE GROUP WILL MEET EVERY SIX MONTHS.

Apart from that there isnt anything. Poor performance by all of the orgs

130,000 members, an email to each one should easily raise the 100,000 needed to be debated in parliament, but for some reason this petition is struggling at 2500 ish

Not only should the organisations be contacting their members but tomorrow when everyone is at their clay shoots they should be talking to fellow shooters making them aware.
