KFC
I find it astonishing that Nicola Sturgeon is hell bent on independence from Westminster but so avidly in favour of being governed by Brussels. Total contradiction.
Whitebridges
Watched the whole show. Nicola Sturgeon hates the United Kingdom but loves the European Union. Detestable cow. I'm voting OUT
panoma1
The remain harridans were constantly aggressive in attacking the Brexit side individuals personally, rudely interrupting them and trying to shout them down, I thought the brexit side remained cool and to the point and tried to answer the questions without insulting the opposition....well done to them! Total contradiction. No its not, Scotland get a lot of subsidies from the EU. If we left the EU they would definitely be a nett looser financially and they couldn't afford to take the hit. Scotland needs the EU's money, simple as that really. Like a lot of other countries come to think of it, is that a good enough reason to want to stay? Know in my area fixed up a lot of timber routes etc I was a yes voter but could never understand that either, why foriegn rules from westminster is bad but foriegn rules from Brussels is good?? TIGHTCHOKE
Surely Scotland would not even consider seperating from the rest of us until the price of oil returns to the previous crazy heights!
Vince Green
Surely Scotland would not even consider seperating from the rest of us until the price of oil returns to the previous crazy heights! The oil situation is far from clear. Its not in Scottish waters. Scotland's claim on it is only really based on the fact that the oil industry made use if the largely redundant deep water harbour at Aberdeen to service the oilfields. What income they would actually get is not clear but I don't believe it will ever come to that.;
ShootingEgg
I did not see this debate, but heard alot from people who did, and it sounds like yet again the remain camp just shoutvthe odds and personally attack the leave camp... scotslad
Surely Scotland would not even consider seperating from the rest of us until the price of oil returns to the previous crazy heights! Why not? U either believe in it or not, unlike wot snp would try and tell u independence would not have cured all our problems no matter wot price oil was at and any fool could of told u the snp's budget was complete nonsense Just like the Euro referendum will not solve all Englands/UK's problems and turn it in to a land of milk and honey overnight, ur being very naive if u think it will not cost jobs or see pension funds crash short term as so mutch is inter linked to city/stock market and they hate uncertianity. And there is no doubt a leave vote will bring uncertainty I think they would recover after a few years but u'll never ever know if theywould be higher or lower than they would off been if u stayed in. And the other side will constantly claim/snipe how much better it would have been if vote was then oppisate Must admit i see this and the scottish vote as almost identical campigns on both sides, the leave are trying to make out everything will be fixed overnight and it has no negatives, while the remain camp are dragging out the usual negative/project fear approach. They should be focusing on any positives. They rolled out almos the exact same scare stories including the 1 about scotland becoming independent could start world war 3. Just complete nonesense. Personnally i think it would help the leave campign if they just came out and were honest, yes it will create uncertainty and cost jobs, pensions etc short term. I also believe for referendums like this it should be a 60/40 vote atleast to get things to change. Atleast then u have 60% of population wanting it. At a 49/51 it's far too close for things to change so dramatically, not like an election where u can get another shot in 5 years (or sooner) For such a big change i think the whole population has to be behind it. Not sure wot the polls are saying or how close it is further down south but the leave will have to be well ahead in polls to stand a chance, the simple fact is when folk get in the voting booth fear WILL get the better of them and they will vote remain as life is not too bad as it is. More of the undecied's will vote remain as it is the easy option. To vote leave IS a big step into the unknown but life will go on. I have spoke to quite a few folk that bottled it at scottish referendum as just too many unknowns Edited June 10, 2016 by scotslad
