You are correct PC, i have seen pigeon breast starters on menus around £12.

Certainly a lot of pigeon meat going somewhere. When i took our birds to gamedealer last night straight from the field at 7pm the larder where we leave the birds in crates was a wash with pigeon feathers!

It's a shame more people don't eat it though, the pub has stopped taking it as no one wants to eat it, game dealer told me that 80% or more goes abroad.

For yrs the French have quite a lot of it also hare too.

I spoke to a game dealer and he said he has one order to fill of 200000 pigeons that's just one contract!

nearly all the pigeon my game dealer deals with go to France

A few local butchers ( in delicatessens) do the full on plucking job and sell whole birds at just over a fiver each.

France and Belgium have always been the biggest market place for pigeons.

My Game Dealers also supply the "Farmers Market" outlets and the crowned pigeon go down very well, especially in the London area.

I love them but can rarely find them.

Anyone know of any game dealers in the Bristol area please? My search has proved fruitless. Spoke with St Catherines Game. He's stopped trading and said very few in our area and then couldn't think of any!!
