TONY R
Any members hunt with a single barrel single shot shotgun on a fairly regular bassis these days or have they gone. Edited August 18, 2016 by TONY R

TONY R
Well i think as i suspected if you look at the views here and just two of you, we can safely presume single barrels are just a part of history now. I dare say many still have them taking up cabinet space but few still use them very often if ever. Edited August 19, 2016 by TONY R
wraivi
I use my Greener GP fairly often, for a quick mooch up the shoot with a pocket of Alphamax 3's during feeding the pens in case of fox. Sometimes take it decoying as a back up, and also something different to shoot clays very light and pointable. Really enjoy it.
shakin stevens
Anybody ever wants a greener single for spares let me know, it's ring bulged ,not be used for many years , it will be free of charge.
Rimfireboy
I often use a single fourten in the woods, shot many a squirrel with it. It's got it's limitations obviously, but it's just like carrying a stick, it's so thin and light. Very often I find myself under gunned with it though, and I've had to pass up on opportunities that I could have taken with a bigger gun as I don't rate it's performance past twenty odd yards. That said, I enjoy using it..... mostly.

motty
I wouldn't use a single these days. It is far more satisfying to shoot a double/triple. The amount of opportunities missed through not having the extra shot is why I will more than likely never own a single again.
panoma1
I had a single 8 Tolley some years ago, killed a lot of good pinks with it! Wish I had kept it!
Wilksy II
I shot my single shot baikal hushpower on tues night, sat under a tree on rape stubble, it accounted for 6 in 2 hrs but like Motty said plenty of opertunity for doubles missed! Bloody awkward to shoot but strangly satisfying when you hit one!
dougall
no longer...had couple of SB 410s lovely and light for wandering around/squirrels/fox in snares ...but frankly not needed.

Archie-fox
Single barrel hush power when checking the phesant feeders on the shoot, quite handy on the squirrels and doesn't bother the birds..
Duckandswing
I have a couple of what I consider to be classic singles. A webley an scott bolt action .410 and a GP greener 12. I probably shoot them every 3 to 4 months and enjoy it. Its a nostalgia thing for me. Something romantic about old guns.

Smokersmith
Early season when the hunger is high and the pinks are fresh in, I'll use my SP10 .... Once I have a couple in the bag, I go to my single 8 ....... I don't need huge amounts of dead geese, and this is a nice way to still get out and fold the odd one up without putting over pressure on the freezer. I always have a smile on my face leaving the marsh .... even more when I have success with the big old gun.
