aga man
With you there ditchy regards s&b and the paper cased grandprix when my dad was keepering he got he grand prix as his monthly allowance. Another favourite of mine were Gambore clear winner extra which were 7.5 32gm they used to come in a plastic bag rather than a box. They were awesome and killed everything from pigeons to ducks. This year i have been using gamebore blue diamond and white gold and although they are very good given the the 2.4 mm pellets size, they still do not compare to the clear winner extra discontinued in the early nineties. oldypigeonpopper
hello, my friends and i then using S/S most spanish did use a lot of S and Bs but the ones i liked most when i could afford some were the impax. i remember the baikals when they did go off made the barrels look like tar , now just the same cheap and cheerful for pigeon/corvids and goes bang 7.5s but they are a lot cleaner. Ttfjlc
Years ago my Dad used to buy our game cartridges from Bourne Tractors (in Lincolnshire), don't know who made them but they were a sweet red paper cased 1 ounce load in either 6 or 7 that accounted for a lot of game, trying to keep them dry in an old wax jacket when raining was always fun but the smell once fired was like a legal high! McSpredder
In the early 1960s we started using "Blue Rival" because they were only 12/6d a box (Eley Grand Prix were costing about 14/6d a box at the local ironmonger). Couldn't remember anything else about them, so did a web search and was directed back to PW: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/252431-anglia-cartridge-co/ I still have a box of Gallyon's "Sandringham" with rolled turnover, and when I get almost too doddery to continue shooting I shall have a final outing and fire them off through Dads old Gallyon gun.
