There's a whole class of professional politicians who only happen to be in the Labour party now because that was the horse they backed in the Blair years, knowing the writing was on the wall for the John Major and the Conservatives.

They're most likely the ones with the knives out for Corbyn now and this is what will cause the inevitable split.

But Labour ain't Labour any more!........the country is crying out for some one/party that will truly represent the interests of the ordinary voter, and just now there ain't one!............leaving the door open for?..........whoever may walk in!!

Dangerous times!

Perhaps FourWheelDrive might rally to the cause?

Mungler - I am not convinced Clegg did a brave thing - I think he saw a bit of potential limelight coming his way and thought "I'll have a piece of that".

Ah, but he could have got into coalition bed with labour on the same if not better terms, but he didn't.

I genuinely think he saved the country, even if that was just by holding the door open for the conservatives

He could get into an argument in a phone box if you follow any of his posts.

This is hilarious because he's completely 1 - 0 down, but instead of stopping there he's going to keep digging.

I can't wait till he gets back home from his job as shop steward at British Leyland because then we can have round 2.

Now, I'm off to the chemists with Lance Armstong.

UKIP were probably the closest. to that party. However, they are probably on a downwards spiral with Farage gone, along with the reason for their existence, namely independence from the EU.

I don't think we are in dangerous times. The only time I think it is dangerous is when Labour are close to getting in!

Yep! but who are Labour and who/what do they represent?........Because they ain't a Labour Party I recognise anymore!

Exactamont! New Liebour spawned a host of psuedo-Tory ministers who took up the cause simply because the Tories had made themselves unelectable. Now they have an old fashioned socialist leader with the backing of the disenchanted old labour supporters (and quite a few newly joined members with mischievous agendas of their own) and it is stalemate. Corbyn hasn't got enough left wingers to for a Shadow Cabinet and the Islington set won't work under him. Got to be a major rift coming amd maybe St. Theresa will call a snap General Election?

They haven't been a labour party that most of us recognise since the arrival of Tony Bliar!!!!!

It started under Kinnock, but Bliar was the man who took over the old, defunct Labour Party and turned it into a pretend Tory Party until the real Tory Party could be trusted again with government. And along the way the diehard Tory backers had no problem supporting Teflon Tony for the duration and then switching back to the blue side when it suited.

John McDonnell proposing today to borrow £100 BILLION and raise the minimum wage to £10 per hour? Yep that's Labour alright, some things never change

Buying votes with money they haven't got

Some of us have principles I have not and never will vote conservative but your actions just goes to show that you do not I would think that if you was an athlete you would be the first in line to pick up the dope so that you can win the race but then it takes all sorts I suppose.

Are you a Momentum supporter as well?

Unfortunately many of the Labour voters are of the mindset that "my father voted Labour, my grandfather voted Labour, so I shall vote Labour.

Absolutely no thought involved!

Perhaps you meant to write:

"My Father's on benefits, my grandfather was on benefits, so I will be on benefits. Turkeys don't vote for Christmas, so I'll vote Labour."

Yes, But Mr Mcdrip did say that he'd got it at a very good rate !

Hope FWD is looking forward to repaying it

We will all end up paying for it if it happens - Still you won't have any guns so shooting will be out , that is one expense less. However if you have been prudent during your life and have savings or a house you will kiss those good-by too, reading between the lines of the promises of taxes on "wealth and property" not income.

Whilst I have no political affiliation and have never voted labour or conservative. Those of you who knock Corbyn should start to become a little concerned as he's starting to become very popular with younger voters.

Young idealistic voters, the types at uni who are world famous demographic got low voter turn out. Uni types have always been liberal thinking. Benefits lots and the die hard reds will always vote labour, the stinking rich will always vote conservatives.

It's the working middle class who swing the vote, who by the time they hit 30s are fed up of working full time, after spending years and thousands at uni, to see people say at home doing **** all with a nicer car and a bigger television!

We need a proper working mans party, who makes the super rich pay their fare share, cuts taxes on middle income working families who are doing over time just to try to educate their kids in decent schools and saving for their retirement.

The older generation after working all their life are ****** off when they're expected to pay for their own care and sell their homes that they worked to leave to their kids, when the bloke in the same home was a **** artist all their life didn't save a penny and gets it all for free!

It's all very complicated!

It got even scarier today when I heard an interview with Derek Hatton who is hoping to get back into the party. He is pro-Corbyn it seems.

Anyone remember the three day week and the lights going out at 3.30pm? Well our new new Labour are going to stop fracking and cancel nuclear power stations, borrow a few (hundred) billions so we may see a return to those wonderful days of the 70s.

Having said above this really frightens me as we may have no credible opposition to the Tories in my remaining years.

As an aside, how's Corbyn's search for a minister for peace / disarmament / capitulation going?

Exactly; it's not easy to have principles in the REAL world.

What with Corbyn and possibly Hatton, it seems we may be returning to the 70's. Does this mean I am going to have to search out all my tank tops, bags and grow my hair long again? I don't mind the tank tops and bags, but if I grew my hair I'd end up looking like Bill Bailey, and that's not a good look.
