ollie
It taken me a while to get this video made as I haven't had time. However, this video is from the 27th September 2016, an outing on barley stubble. When I arrived at the fields the trees just exploded with pigeons, so I had a feeling it was going to be a great day. The wind was very strong and I only had one option on where to put the hide and unfortunately it meant the wind was in my face. This made for great shooting as some of the birds were shot going over my head with the wind. At times the wind was so strong that it was difficult to keep the hide up. The most action came after lunch when the pigeons just starting decoying much better. This was my first ever solo red letter day on pigeons and I packed up as soon as I reached the milestone. I probably could have stayed on another couple of hours & got another 20 or 30, but I had enough fun by that stage. Thanks for watching, make sure & stay tuned to the end for the bloopers section!!! Fredwalton
Some cracking shots in there. Forgive me if I'm being stupid but what does a red letter day actually mean?
ollie
Some cracking shots in there. Forgive me if I'm being stupid but what does a red letter day actually mean? Meaning as follows: a day that is pleasantly noteworthy or memorable. "many a trout angler has had a red-letter day on Loch Awe" Pigeon shooters use it to refer to shooting a bag in excess of 100. Good shooting ! Almost as exciting as Ireland beating the All Blacks for the first time in 111 years in Chicago ! Tell me about it. They were unlucky not to beat them a few years ago. Well done on getting the ton. I quite enjoy shooting going away birds. Thanks motty, modest compared to some of your days but a day I will never forget. A lot of the birds that day were very satisfying.

ollie
Good shooting, good video but i am surprised you did not have a visit from PSNI. shooting towards the road so much. Mate that road is about 300 yards away, I'm pretty certain my shooting was safe enough. This is part of the reason why I set up in this position. Yet again you produce an outstanding video with some fantastic shooting, loved watching that thank you good sir. Thanks for the comments everyone. Cranfield
A good watch and some great shooting, those high, incoming pigeons with the wind behind them are tougher than driven pheasants IMO, well done. The wind was a nuisance, but at least you never had the sun in your eyes.

ollie
A good watch and some great shooting, those high, incoming pigeons with the wind behind them are tougher than driven pheasants IMO, well done. The wind was a nuisance, but at least you never had the sun in your eyes. It was great sport those incoming birds, would much prefer that than birds fluttering around the decoys. I do agree that they were tougher than driven pheasants, pheasants generally keep the same line/path. Some very good shooting on show there, well done. Thanks zapp
ollie
Ditto, and much more satisfying in my opinion when connected with. 100% mate, would rather shoot a handful of sporting birds than a big bag of easy ones. I was just lucky this day that I got the big bag & sporting shots.
