UKPoacher
The Scottish side are really no threat to England currently. If the Italians had done that to Scotland or would have taken them an entire tournament to figure out how to counter it. Nah. They'd just get wee Jimmy Kranky to demand another match
mick miller
Likely correct.
novice cushie shooter
All the pressure is on England. Scotland have improved markedly and will present a different problem to them. Could go either way
rimfire4969
I have been impressed by some of scotlands rugby, if England bring their "A" game there is not a team in the northern hemisphere who can beat them and only one in the south. Problem seems to be that they are not sure what locker they left their "A" game in.

It was weak, but with yet more injuries it's moved from weak to barely functioning. England will have Mako playing from the start, I think even their B-Game will be far too much for Scotland. They can't always rely on the Brothers Gray bailing them out
novice cushie shooter
Agree the pack has been very poor so far and is a major weakness.
Whitebridges
Farrell showed a few chinks in his armour. Needs to get it together.
mick miller
What? The kicking game? You don't think the strong, gusting wind in the stadium played a part plus the acute angle of several of the attempts at goal?
Whitebridges
Just used to Farrell popping them over from all over the pitch that's all. If the Italians had scored theirs we would have been buried. I felt Owen was really annoyed and it effected his game. I'm a big fan BTW but with Scotland and Ireland coming up scores from penalties will have a match winning consequence.

NickS
I was at Twickenham and the wind played a big part in the performance of the kickers - each of the three flags on the North Stand were pointing different ways so it must have been impossible to judge what effect it would have on the ball. Whitebridges
Thanks for that Nick S. I might be a bit cruel. I saw a very competent Farrell in the flesh versus France and Wales that's all I have to say.
NickS
It may have been better had he either just drilled it, rather than kicking high, or just gone for the corner when we may have been able to come away with something. What is baffling is the way England responded to the non-rucking by the Italians. If the ref signals the ball is out, pick it up and run with it! Even school kids know that. Blaming the Italians for a failure to capitalise on the opportunities is just whinging...
Michael Scotland
It's not just the Scottish that do it.............the Welsh do it to, and the Irish, and the French, and the aussies, and.....................pattern emerging here;-)

tonker
My son is a sports teacher, and he taught Billy, he said that even in school he would pick the ball up and take off, very often with 3 or 4 lads hanging off of him, either that or he would pick someone up and carry them as well Always was a big lad apparently. I hope he doesn't come back to early and do his Knee again, been there, done that, still regretting it.

They might just keeping for the bench and let him out of the cage for 15-20 mins - if anything at all. But put yourself in the Scots' shoes. The last thing they will want is to hear rumours of Billy's return. They've got a horribly under-powered scrum as it is. Imagine waking up to the news that one of the world's best Number 8's is suddenly able to make an appearance...
SuperGoose75
So it's Wales in Cardiff in a few hours time under a closed roof. I really hope Ireland can win this one although it will be no easy task' so as to set up a Championship decider in The Aviva against England' that is providing of course Scotland don't throw a spanner in the works.
