Lloyd90
Abolish university fees, nationalise power companies and boost the NHS. I think they're absolutely mad but there's plenty of dreamers who don't have a clue how it's going to be paid for who will vote for them! They're the same people who live their lives on tick and complain about how hard done by they are.
Vince Green
The thing is there is not an original thought or idea in the whole manifesto. Its just a rehash of old, largely failed or discredited, dross from the bad old days of Michael Foot's era. They didn't work then and they certainly won't fool anybody today. Its actually pathetic because they are stuck in a time warp.

TIGHTCHOKE
This is my favourite quote from the article; "A Labour source warned it is "Ed Miliband's manifesto with hard left hundreds and thousands sprinkled on top".

Vince Green
It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. This is the so called political elite with serious aspirations to be running the country in a few weeks. They couldn't run a chip shop Its actually scarey
Flashman
Come on, there must be somebody on this forum who can write in support of Labour..? It's not so very far from the SNP...
wandringstar
They will probably be decimated at the election, they will still be a presence as so many people have either real or imaginary issues with society, that they believe these crackpots hold the key to an answer for them. I believe in privitisation as a rule, however I don't think that foreign companies owning and building your utilities is better than nationalisation of your power companies. If all things were equal, and the country had a higher average IQ, there wouldn't be a labour party anymore, it was once the party of intelligent working class people, bevan comes to mind, now its a rabble party, and should just go away. Penelope
IMO he doesn't want to win, he is far more comfortable sniping from the side lines, it's all he knows, it's all he has ever done.

Vince Green
My first job was working for a Nationalised Industry. Trust me, we don't want to return to those days. I think the railways are pretty good, I use them a lot to travel to South Wales in preference to driving. The trains run pretty much on time and are comfortable. If I pick my times I can often do London to Cardiff for £15, occasionally £10 (the record I think was £8 once) and it only takes a couple of hours. l can plug in my laptop and watch a film or do some work. Why on earth do they want to Nationalise them?. Edited May 11, 2017 by Vince Green
wandringstar
I dident say that, I said foreign owned in my view isn't better than nationalisation, you have to own your own and build your own power, its fundamental in a hostile world. Not all forms of capitalism are good, many are.
norfolk dumpling
I want to vote Labour - haven't for many long years - but this has Union dominance running right through it. PM must be chuckling all the way to the polls. Has McClusky got his hand up Jezzas backside?? I'm coming up to 65 now and I see Tories for the rest of my life - even if I live to a ripe old age and that is not a good thing. This makes my angry. PM - TM not trade mark. EMT
I think Jeremy Corbyn is absolutely fantastic and the best thing to happen for years, but then I would say that as a paid up member of the Conservative party

panoma1
Communism is a good idea in principle.....but it will never work in practice because of greed, corruption and other negative, selfish human traits, the only way to enforce it is by suppressing any form of capitalism or class destinction.......usually it means everyone lives a poor life in a grotty tenement flat, just the same as their neighbors! Except of course the comrades who are in control....once in power they usually turn into a self serving gang, corrupted by greed who abuse their power and position in order to distance themselves from and give themselves a better life than the proletariat!..... I'm afraid communism and other left wing ideologies, can never work because they are contrary to human nature.........there will always be haves and have nots.......if the have nots were offered what the haves have got, would they turn it down? Would you? I rest my case! Lol!

Rewulf
Testing the waters in my opinion. This 'leaked' manifesto is to gauge public opinion on these kind of ideas, if public opinion is favourable , this will be the official manifesto, with a few adjustments. If not , it will be discredited by the labour commissars ,and a new one drafted up. Standard propaganda.

yod dropper
I actually quite like Jeremy Corbyn but don't think him particularly dangerous. I also quite like John McDonell and rate him as a politician. I do fear him however as he is really good on camera but has a side I dislike. I've heard about his involvement in Militant back in the early 80s and I've finally seen footage of him admitting he's a Marxist. You then have Andrew Fisher who is said to be Head of Policy. I did see an article on him, this is where you should really start to fear the party, quite a nasty streak to him with politics and attitudes that might shock you. Lastly, Seumas Milne, Executive Director of Strategy and Policy. A classic Champagne Socialist type, Marxist and Communist regime apologist who some suggest really runs the party. I wouldn't worry about the bit of the iceberg you can see.
