Esca
I am looking at the new Gamebore Regal range and they use the fiber, palstic and wool wads. What is the difference between the fiber and wool wads?

Kalahari
Back in the day, felt wads were usually thought to be the best, and they were cut out of wool felt. So maybe wool is the best of the easily bio-degradeable ones. David.

Walker570
I don't know and little care what is in the 'fibre' wads John, at Folkestone Eng., sells, but they sure do produce some cracking patterns out of my 410.
panoma1
And fibre, felt and wool don't pollute the countryside, waterways and seas!

figgy
Wool wads are far better, nothing like putting a wooly on your birds as you shoot them. Nothing more than a marketing gimmick for the gullible.
matone
Yep,the cartridge companies have turned a consumable into a fashion accessory.
Salopian
Yes it is all a bit like the latest Grouse load from the Ripoff Cartridge Company . Apparently it has taken two years to develop. I'd sack your lazy technicians. Sorry British Cartridge Manufactures you really are extracting the Urine . I will continue to buy Italian Cartridges , better quality and cheaper prices. How hard is it to stick a load of 5.5 polished or copper coated shot into a fancy looking case. I really like RC and Viri cartridges for a reason. figgy
All we want is a very fast soft shooting good patterning cartridge. Get the brains on it and sort some out, instead of trying to market the same old carts as the new best thing. Wonder if they tried cashmere or alpaca wool as its softer and finer, should shoot faster. Or silk wads, super slippy for super smooth shooting. I hope the cartridge manufacturers read this forum, I think they will it being the number one shooting forum and take note of the general feeling of being ripped off.
