clakk
Let him spend a week in Raaqua clearing the booby traps he didnt leave behind whilst he was charity cycling around Syria ,and if that doesnt work drop him off at a Yasidi refugee centre and see how the woman there deal with a real ISIS hero
Danger-Mouse
Back in 2014 Philip Hammond suggested those who joined and fought for ISIS and other Islamic terror groups could be prosecuted for treason. Let's hope the current government follows through with that.
ordnance
The problem is they will let them return, they will give them benefits priority housing etc, and spend millions trying to watch them.
spanj
Yep, much better if they can be killed as part of a combat operation. Despite what the tabloid press may like to suggest, because it sells copy and has much of the PW collective frothing and foaming at the mouth, there is zero likelihood that any UK national who can be shown to have fought for ISIS will come back under anything like favourable terms. walshie
Well here you go; Taken from a recent Times article "Mark Rowley, the most senior police officer for counter-terrorism, told the home affairs select committee that a significant proportion would face prosecution. However, he added that in other cases there may not be enough evidence, such as social media propaganda, to make charges viable". Blimey what a cop out! Exactly, He's worse than useless. Sha Bu Le
Has anyone actually seen any kind of official confirmation that the council house and benefits reports are true? Posted in perhaps 4 papers and in turn put on faceache by someone. However not seen or heard a single mention of it on any news programs. Not that I would expect auntie beeb to report it. Could the whole thing be a big wind up by someone with a twisted mind or perhaps someone(s) testing the water of public opinion. (This does not relate directly to the original subject of this thread i.e. young homesick jj but is pertinent nonetheless).

Salopian
How on Earth can we even consider rehabilitating people who willingly betrayed our country whilst we still have thousands homeless and destitute through no real fault of their own . Guido Fawkes committed a crime , actually a good lsolicitor would probably get him off today , after all he was actually only guilty of trespassing. Yet look how we treated him? I was disgusted to find out recently that we still have Ian Brady to cope with ???? Surely we need to urgently get a grip of our selves if only in the interests of sanity. Any self confessed Jihadi / Isis fighter should be repatriated as soon as possible and put to death , to save us further issues in the future . Sorry , but I make no apologies for being a firm believer in bringing back the death sentence . Our Prisons are overfull with scum , and I do not wish to provide them with support . bruno22rf
It's treason, Simple as. But to put him to death would be far more expensive than housing him and giving him a new identity - the legal costs would be phenomenal and the back lash from our bleeding hearts brigade would go on forever. We could make him join our Army-at least that way we know we can treat him like dirt, poorly equip and pay him then leave him to rot when he has finished serving his country. Dave-G
I can just about get my head around .gov having to prove beyond reasonable doubt to liberals that the culprits were with ISIS, to withold any right to return or get any assistance: But to give a higher housing priorty to anyone who left UK to go to such a country for an extended period during the troubles is surely enough to cause them to join a queue that everyone else has to undergo. Seems all the UK governments do what the PC wets want rather than heed what the general public wants, maybe to the point of provoking civil unrest. Wishing we could get a government with balls to say horlicks to PC! I can easily suspect some people might even be shameless enough to claim to have returned just to jump the queue! Appeasement is the government's policy now. They have no balls, they are just weak PC liberals who keep feeding the crocodile hoping it will eat them last. But the crocodile is getting bigger and bolder and it's hunger is increasing. It does no bode well.

Salopian
Exactly my point . We are still paying to keep Ian Brady . His solicitor should be paying not only for his refrigeration but for his upkeep and medical costs for all the years that Brady cheated the hangman. Yellow Bear
It is the solicitor causing the problem - they should send him the current bill and inform him of costs if he delays further.
