Lloyd90
A question I asked myself, similar to this countries definition of poverty, have we gone mad with our definition of who is homeless? I think we have, it’s easier for people to scream and shout about how so many poor people are homeless, rather than living in temporary housing. I suppose that just doesn’t sound as dramatic. I read it on this article - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/51d8c20f-433f-43ee-b43c-5a507f1755c4 Now I hardly think these girls are living the high life. But at 17/18 I certainly wouldn’t have been able to afford to move out of my parents home, and get a flat of my own. Im not saying we shouldn’t support people in difficult circumstances, but I think it’s a cheek to say these people are homeless. They have accommodation paid for, a roof, heating and food, having never properly worked in their lives. I cant really say that I feel for their hardship. team tractor
While on duty Friday night my wife spotted 4 lots of homeless people in our town sleeping rough. That’s homeless. my mum buys the one a sandwich when she she’s her. I’ve told her don’t give them money tho. Homeless is sleeping in a doorway . panoma1
I don't know! But for years girls have been having children as a lifestyle choice, and using them as a means of getting benefits, social housing etc, the more children they have the more benefits they get! All paid for by us, the taxpayers!........Genuine cases are judged by these feckless, workshy parasites!

Agreed but there is a flip side to that - our breeding age youth have not had enough kids to cover the growing cost of pensions/care etc. I read that as one of the reasons wee need so many migrants... My partner and I both work decent jobs, paid for our house, mortgage, cars. We couldn’t afford to have kids atm, it’s damn expensive. People who don’t work can bang out 6 kids and not need to worry about childcare because they’re paid to sit at home all day not working. It reminds me of the movie idiocracy. WestonSalop
I'm with the general sentiment of the feelings expressed in this topic - I detest with all my heart, the feckless wretches who sponge off the system and I have no sympathy for them at all when the wheels fall off. When I look at the amount of tax and NI I pay every month it makes me livid, when I hear for instance of the jobless being able to take holidays abroad. And before anybody argues the point, it does happen, I know for a fact. But its worth bearing in mind (and I saw the stats in The Times on Friday) the rates of pregnancies amongst teenagers has dropped to all time lows. Part of the reason apparently is that is actually harder these days to fund a lifetime career as a dole-waller and is far less of a feasible option than it used to be. Rant over - maybe I need to get out and shoot something (per the new GLs of course)!

It seems the money tree for these people, is not bearing endless amounts of fruit now.....so rather than a nice rent free house being provided to them, paid for by the taxpayer....they may end up in a hostel!........ You make your bed....eh!

Did you see one of them got in trouble as she was claiming benefits and earning £26,000 a year at the same time!
B725
We must have some of fat Sarah's relatives living near us, there is no problem helping genuine people who are struggling but there is too many lazy fat ******* who know how to play the system and have no intension of working at all, new cars via the motatility scheme, sky TV, mobile phone in one hand while driving to the food bank. My parents had nothing, my dad worked while mum looked after the family no government support in them day's infact my mother sometimes didn't eat with us claiming she wasn't hungry, it was only when I got older that I found out she went without food to ensure us kids had food in our bellys. Most people don't know the meaning of hard time's.
Walker570
I have to ask, did these 'homeless' not have family, were they not born to parents like the rest of us ? I contantly hear from friends in the cities of so called homeless, picking up their begging caps and slinking round the corner and climbing into the BMWs. There has to be a certain responsibility for being homeless. 46 minutes ago, B725 said: We must have some of fat Sarah's relatives living near us, there is no problem helping genuine people who are struggling but there is too many lazy fat fookers who know how to play the system and have no intension of working at all, new cars via the motatility scheme, sky TV, mobile phone in one hand while driving to the food bank. B725
When my parents were alive the entire garden was planted with vegetables apart from a few chrysanthemum for the local flower show. Drive around and estate now and you will see overgrown gardens why don't they get off their fat **** and grow some food oh I forgot other people will donate to the food banks so they can watch Jeremy Kyle or David Dickinsons any old **** every day. Unfortunately that's my sister. Not had a job since she was 20, and only before then it was bar work or cleaning. Managed to time it right by having a kid at intervals, sadly 1 was ill, so gets disability as well. 4 total. Shes loaded or was when I last spoke to her years ago, cba with people like that. Kids or not , if people have no intention of working , they never will. my wife’s dads girlfriend has been bitten on her knee 50 years ago so never worked but walks 5 miles a day. She’s a waste of space and I’d chuck her in the nearest door way with a sleeping bag. As ive said before, we get zero help besides child benefits £20 a week is it? Everyone gets that I know . We just manage and know it’ll get better. My dad has always said if you wait until you can afford kids you’ll never have them. Maybe why I use a howa and cz Can’t afford owt else Edited June 16, 2019 by team tractor

That. Is blatantly untrue. At least in Nottingham it is, and I'm sure we aren't unusual. I personally know at least 50 women, over the years, who were pregnant, and were housed in some way shape or form, I was talking to one a few weeks back, she was sleeping in her car, they put her in a Premier Inn for 2 months. She now has a flat, and the baby is due anytime now.
