The goal is to make satellite launching as cheap as they are to build now. Everyday consumer products are making it pretty easy to make satellites these days, but launching is still prohibitively costly. Branson's goal for this company is to make that a reality. I appreciate that if you are a spaceman/woman then getting hit by anything travelling at 16,000 mph isn’t good but there are what four people in space at any one time and God know how many billion people on Earth. We should start dumping more rubbish up there. Or on the moon. we were all admiring Elon Musks satellite ‘train’ the other week and no mention then of junk and he wants to put thousands of satellites in space.
