He is trying to do something for the Airline then - repurpose the planes as space rocket launch pads - he could cross lease between the two companies :) Stewardesses giving the space crew drinks and nibbles before blast off

This is a completely different company to his space tourism goal. This one's all about telecommunications. The goal is to make satellite launching as cheap as they are to build now. Everyday consumer products are making it pretty easy to make satellites these days, but launching is still prohibitively costly. Branson's goal for this company is to make that a reality.

I really don't want it to work! We have enough satellites up there, we don't need the sky being even more full of the things

Hello, yes spends money for useless projects and want tax payers to bail out his airlines, not forgetting the millions on his rail franchise or the 1000s of people made redundant,

I suspect it was an optimistic attempt at getting the government debt deeper so it might help his anti Brexit agenda.

Just found this contraption Ditchy, it is like a purse net for "space junk" ,It was launched In 2018 and it appears to has been successful in "snaffling" a piece of space debris and they are working on a more capable system. Watch the video in the read. Amazing!

Does it matter? I appreciate that if you are a spaceman/woman then getting hit by anything travelling at 16,000 mph isn’t good but there are what four people in space at any one time and God know how many billion people on Earth. We should start dumping more rubbish up there. Or on the moon.

we were all admiring Elon Musks satellite ‘train’ the other week and no mention then of junk and he wants to put thousands of satellites in space.

wooow dont get me wrong..............its a large area up there...not fussed about spaceman getting wiped out ....its the important stuff that effects our everyday lives that are regulated by saterlites..........dont want them getting hit.............

i think any saterlite that goes up there  should have a one time booster on it....so when it comes to the end of its life then it can return to earth on a safe route...........not be left up there to clutter the place up

think on this....................

one saterlite colides with another....the resulting crash creats 1000 bits......they then colide with another 2 or 3 saterlites and creat several thousand bits ....and so on.........it will be like a bloody liquidizer up there.....expodential and all that carp...............
