I'm very sorry to hear that Phil,  I hope she's soon on the mend mate .

My sister was taken into hospital in a bit of a state , but is much better now , and is able to get out of bed and sit in a chair again.

Thank you all for your kind words we do not know how she caught it but now they are saying it was a close call  due to her oxygen levels being so low . Please do not leave it due to fears of catching it at the hospital get it checked out.

Well caught then.

I'm surprised 'they' don't deliver a portable oxygen mask and bottle kit to home users if that is their only symptom to free up hospital beds and keep patients separated further than in a hospital ward full of coughing spreaders.

I have read that in some areas sufferers are issued with oximeters to use at home so that if their oxygen falls too low they can take further action.  Not sure if home oxygen is made available.

One of the (many) aspects of Covid that isn't understood seems to be that the oxygen level can fall largely unnoticed by the patient until it gets to a level that is critical and causing other problems.

I have a Colmi smart watch that monitors blood oxygen levels, heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature among all the sporting and sleeping activeties. Surprisingly the blood pressure reading is very close to my omron blood pressure monitor. It links by bluetooth to my phone to set up and keeps via an app and records of the readings.

The only negative I have about it is the silicone watch band they come with is uncomfortable. I bought a good quality leather watch strap of ebay and fitted that instead which is a lot better.

A work colleague of a friend died at home because of this, lived alone, they were getting regular phone calls texts etc, then weren't answering so called the police.

Well done on spotting things at the right time bill . Covid can be a very mild experience for some people, but for others, it can get very serious , very quickly.

A Porter who works for one of our clients went the same way, 35 years old and tried to get through it at home and died in his sleep.

Just a quick update guys.

Lin is pretty much ok now , but shes still suffering from slight nausea . I'm feeling OK some days , but still as rough as hell on other days . I'm still pretty dizzy , and my strength has just evaporated.

The best news.

My sister left hospital yesterday , and is now safely home . Shes doing as well as can be expected,  but sounds absolutely dreadful.  She told me how she was taken to hospital in an ambulance, and sat in the ambulance on the car park for about three hours ( until the end of the paramedics shift) , then she was moved into another ambulance ( still on the hospital car park)  for about the same amount of time . She was finally admitted into the hospital,  and lay in the corridor for about four hours before a bed became available. She tells a pretty grim tale of the hospital , but also of how hard the staff are all working . She told me that the doctors wanted to take her to intensive care for several days,  but no icu beds were available,  during this waiting period,  several people on her ward sadly died (whilst waiting for icu beds) , and on one very sad day ,  four other patients died in a couple of hours , without ever making it to intensive care. We're all very relieved that my sister was one of the lucky ones.

And still dozy pillocks have parties in parks - referring to one in Leicester right next to East Park Road police station - where the local population doesn't get tickets for illegal parking either.

Great news that your sister recovered from what must have been a traumatic experience made worse because of what see saw. and was able to comprehend.

NEWSFLASH.

I've just had the test results from the Oxford /ons test yesterday( we've been part of the trial for months) , and I'm still positive 😕. It's lucky that I was on holiday from work this week ,  I would have been very popular if I'd gone back and carried on spreading the love. They've informed me that they'll be out at some point to take blood for a antibodies test .

i have read that you can test positive for several weeks after you have had covid, its in your system but you can not pass it on as you are not contagious. My boss at work had it, was off two weeks and went for a test , that was positive, he was off another week and had another test, that was positive. After that test they refused to re test him as the chances are it would be positive again.
