steve_b_wales
Does anyone know the best make available? A friend of mine has asked me, but I haven't a clue. Thanks.
WalkedUp
Between the pages of pratfalls and angst there is actually some useful information in Ditchie’s magnum opus.
Walker570
I don't have a clue the make I sent to Ditchie but if I remember it worked. Like anything don't necessarily buy cheap. I think the first ones Simon had the moles just eased them back opwn and trundled off. Eddie B
I wouldn't know a whole lot about moles, for there are none here, but seemingly the putangue are excellent, and easy enough set in runs.

The above are good, but so are the tunnel traps ( duffus type ) .

Digger79
I use putang and duffus, both easy to use and account for a lot of moles
Walker570
It is also down to how you set them and not leaving any human scent. My grandfather used to keep his in a bucket with a handful of lob worms chopped up but Mr Packham might not like that idea.

I often hear this, then shrug my shoulders as I set new traps with no gloves on and catch moles all the same.

30-6
Flatpack tunnels, genuine talpex or putangs. They will all work straight out of the box, but the tunnels can be made a little more responsive by fine tuning.

I am the same now. For me the number one rule is leaving the tunnel clean.

Most farmers would rather have a good mole catcher , than someone that pays for shooting 👍.

I used to run about 200 traps over a dozen farms , and other bits of land that came with them . It can be very hard work sometimes, but it will get you lots of shooting permission. Most farmers will tolerate a few , rabbits , foxes , and pigeons, but none of them like to see molehills. I do very little mole trapping these days to be honest , but I still get the odd call , or just drop a few traps into the ground if I notice molehills.
