Hello, yes I did know that but if something's not done to stop Putin and his war machine Ukraine will become a wasteland of damaged buildings and destroyed homes and full grave yards,

See the mad man Putin is now talking of taking back Alaska   well he will certainly  get his **** kicked there.

Is he loosing his marbles as we say in UK ?

he obviously has a vision of the future in his head however warped it may be.but what is to stop him making these threats or even carrying out some of them.the west and nato have shown that they are fairly ineffective and on the other hand he does not seem to care how nany russian and other nationalities lives he sacrifices along the way.the rest of the world are currently showing that one man can hold every other country to ransom and destroy economies all over with virtually no consequences to himself.

Which is what having nuclear weapons gives you the power to do.

also the power to have your own country wiped out in retaliation. putin has not used nuclear in ukraine but if he did the response from the rest of the world would be almost zero.

Yes, I think he has his hands full with Ukraine.

The problem is, if you are a bullying autocratic 'strongman' like Putin, people will tell you what you want to hear - or you may disappear.   A considerable number of his former 'oligarch' supporters have apparently had very nasty accidents recently.  So you get to believe that with all the huge and highly trained and equipped military you have with all their weapons that are far superior to anything anyone else has that you have been told about - you have a free hand to do what you want.

It is alleged that Putin was told by his cronies that he could go into Ukraine, have minimal opposition, and his troops and tanks would be welcomed as heroes and it would all be over in a few days.  That's not what has happened.  In fact - as he headed for Kiev, it became clear that there would be far more opposition than he had been led to believe etc.

It was claimed that Russia's big parade day was to be a 'Victory' celebration (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61338097), but in fact there was little to celebrate.

The last 'statement' from Russia says it is only now getting started (https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-says-russia-is-just-getting-started-in-ukraine-2022-7?r=US&IR=T)

Others say he is already running low on high tech weapons.  No one really knows and I suspect that he is only informed 'the good news'.

Having someone is sole command of a large and powerful country with a huge military - and who is only being told what he wants to hear and is never questioned is a bit of a bad situation - but that's what we have.

Agreed again ! , Shes borderline imbecile.
Some of her gaffes during the early days of Ukraine were a national embarrassment.

Well at least they will have 'weakened' Russia for NATO , and boosted US arms production for years to come ?

Like Putin said at the weekend, NATO is happy for them to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian...

Absolutely, donating arms is a lot cheaper than going to war - and its also allowing NATO to assemble in preparation for what might turn out to be a much more involved confrontation of superpowers.

He would be a brave boy to try and reclaim Alaska, part of a massive nato country with more nukes than he has and lots of cutting edge weaponry, I think he'll stick with the ukraine and he's doing a poor job of that. He will have to get his finger out as when the winter hits he will end up going home.

I wonder how many rounds would need to be exchanged before all out war was declared.

How so?

nato was set up mainly to stop the spread of soviet russia and at this moment they are standing by watching it happen.putin is making threats to nato and the rest of the world warning thdm of dire consequences if they get involved in stopping his slaughter of innocents and virtually wiping another country off the face of tje earth. we have witnessed america who set red lines for syria with chemical weapons yet when that was crossed they simply drew another line.then there was the pathetic show in Afghanistan gave the population a taste of freedom for a number of years then handed it back to the very terror group they had fought and put the people back into a virtual pre historic life.as i said putin is holding the entire world to ransom parts of the developing and third world countries are going to suffer great famine and possibly millions of deaths due to his action in ukraine.so in a way he is attacking the countries of nato and will cause them all great harm without a single shot being fired at any of the members

But he is not attacking a NATO member country, and as NATO is a defensive alliance, it will only defend it members.

Why should a country that is not a member get the protection of NATO. All the protection and none of the cost. That's not how it works.

As for "in a way he attacking the countries of NATO" again That's not how it works, NATO is a defensive military alliance and will only respond to direct military threat on a member.

well thats ok then.we can all wait for many other countries moving on non nato places then watch the worlds economies collapse completely.millions starve life as you know it just a distant memory.due to putins actions all of our great great grandchildren are going to be paying for this and that goes for most countries of the world.hitler wanted to rule the world putin is doing a far better job than him with no resistance from the nations he is crippling.but this is russia so the mighty west will just sit on the fence and then whoever comes out on top they will rush to do deals with them. although many eu countries are still funding his invasion with billions each week buying russian oil and gas.funny old world aint it.

Are you really expecting NATO to attack a nuclear armed country? - which could well trigger nuclear war around the world?

The whole idea of being nuke enabled and be willing to use a first strike is to prevent that country being attacked. WE have a first strike nuclear policy too in case you didn't know it.

No one said it was 'ok', just that's how it is. NATO is not an aggressive alliance, and will not defend a non-member country and rightly so.

If NATO is so useless, then why has Putin not followed through on his treat to Finland and Sweden, if they tried to join NATO. Their applications are in full swing by the way.

no i am not saying attack a nuclear armed country.but all nato countries should cut off russias income from thdm completely.not ease out of it over the next 12 months or so.instead it pumps billions into his war chest while pumping more billions in with weapons to ukraine.do you not see anything a little strange with that arrangement.i do not think any country should have nuclear weapons but it seems the big boys are able to say who can and cant

yes their applications are in full swing so likely only about five years til they are in. plenty of time for putin to have a crack at them safe in the knowledge they are not members.lets not lose sight of the fact this is not a conflict of military its not a war its genocide.a whole different ball game.

I doubt after Ukraine is over Putin or his army will be in any position to attack Finland or Sweden, his attack on Ukraine is a disaster for Russia Putin and his military.
