Even if it is, we were given the vote, by those who govern. They gave us that choice due to political expediency.
It’s not their job to then complain because it didn’t go the way they wanted, and then conspire to overturn the results of that vote, but to govern despite it and create policies with which to cater for it and move on.
To do otherwise is akin to throwing up one’s hands along with the toys as if to say ‘ah well, that’s that then, we’re scuppered’ and then having a hissy fit.

The lecterns been put up outside No10, so that’s it, she’s finished.
The ‘I’m not a quitter’ is quitting. No support no choice.
What a complete and utter embarrassing farce this is.

No problem with the mandate just need to deliver what was described. The point Elwood is making is that they cannot agree the path needed to deliver it.

As you say a complete farce. Where next?

What must the UK look like now to outsiders considering an investment here?

Truss tried to make outside investment more attractive by lowering the tax rates.  The ruling classes didn't like that.

Given what seems to be an ever growing agenda, it has to be a remainer doesn’t it? 🤷‍♂️

I think it's not even about that as far as the BBC are concerned; even the Tories* , have recognised that the licence fee is finished.  Thus they constantly put the boot in, whether it be Boris, Truss, or whatever, as they know only a Labour government** will guarantee their funding.

*or continuity New Labour as they really are

**or, more likely, a Lib-Lab-Green-SNP coalition hellscape

Who ever is chosen will get slated by the press and find it difficult to carry on, the media want an election and they will snip away until they get one.

I think everyone wants an election by this point, what an absolute shambles.

Only the Tory MP’s don’t want one cos they know they’ve created such a mess they’ll very likely lose and a lot of them will be out.

As the Tory MP said live on TV. They don’t care what the party members or the public want. They’re out for themselves.

Why would the Tories agree to an election now? They would lose, so just sit tight and hope things get better. Labour will pathetically demand an election because of a new Prime Minister, conveniently forgetting they have form for this.

I expect the new PM will come from this list:-

Ben Wallace - says he doesn't want the job and will have to be persuaded. 🙂

Penny Mordaunt - better than Truss, which isn't saying much.

Rishi Sunack - probably bookmakers' favourite.

Tom Tugendhat - probably best of the bunch, so obviously no chance.

Jeremy Hunt - already got his feet under the table, but a lightweight.

Boris - bad as that sounds, I wouldn't rule it out.

Starmer - name put on the list for comedic purposes. Won't happen.
