marsh man
Am I becoming a wimp or what ? , here I am sitting in my lounge with the central heating on and the rain is lashing onto my windows , not freezing cold , although it was only 9 degrees in my motor first thing and I haven't been back long from taking the dog out , although wrapped up I still got wet and the wind on the coast is expected to get up to 50 m p h from a Northerly direction and believe it or not it is the 10th of June , in the farming bit in Saturdays paper it stated the grain crops needed some serious sunshine this month to make it even a average harvest which will start in about four weeks time , sadly they forecast rain on and off all this coming week , hopefully it will change before long for the farmers sake as it must be more of a worry for them than it is for me , hope it is better where you are . JohnfromUK
Not Exactly Flaming June At The Moment ......... and all the nicer for being a bit more civilised. Currently it's 61 F outside (16C), sunny and some breeze and very pleasant. Can't abide baking hot weather. Only downside is the wet spring has been very bad for crops and lawns, grass, weeds have grown vigorously.
Westley
I don't like hot weather either, but I struggle to cast a fly line in the hurricane winds. Resorted to a heavy fly line. 🙄

Resorted to a heavy fly line. 🙄 I struggle to cast a fly line (in anything but a very haphazard style) most of the time. Wind makes it harder and I (try) to cast almost sideways on low over the water. 65 - 70 F is pleasant. Overcast is what fishermen need. countryman
Don’t worry, once we all drive Electric car’s everything will be fine, our little island is totally responsible for all the bad weather.
Westley
Well, I did wonder if it had been caused by spent lead shot ?? 🤔 We could do with a few Cormorants adding lead to their diets !

I agree that 61 f is very nice and comfortable , I am the same , when it get well over mid 20s then it can become to hot , if this weather was in the middle of December then it would be lovely but in the second week in June then it's not so good , when it was raining hard this morning the temp dropped down to 6 in my motor but the rain have now stopped and when I just got home it was balmy 8 f , still a fair way to get up to your 16f but with the wind coming off of a cold North sea then we will struggle to get there today , but tomorrow is another day and the ole sun cream might well be slapped on .😎 MM

oowee
Looking at a week of low pressure ahead with storm force winds Thurs and Sat here on south coast. 😟
Shadowchaser
I agree, it's somewhat chilly here in the NW. I don't like those baking hot days though, so as long as it's dry and not too windy I don't mind layering up.
marsh man
Our weather man on the box tonight brought us the good news that tomorrow night could be a frost in the countryside , I will have to stand near my bedding plants and blow some hot air over them with my redundant hair dryer , mind you it is bloodx cold here tonight MM

Genghis
It’s the official start of summer next Friday, hopefully we’ll see things start to pick up. I’ve had the heating on a few times. Life’s too short to sit around in the cold, I’ll have all of eternity to be cold when they put me in my grave one day.

bluesj
had the day off today and did a few bits in the garden but heavy showers put an end to that, so sat in doors looking for a film to watch ended up feeling so chilly I lit the log burner! marsh man
We are full of envy , we have had very heavy showers today with a balmy 14 degrees , what might of interest to you was when I went out tonight some of the Winter barley fields have been knocked about , not laid but several patches are leaning well over , I would expect to see some Pigeons sitting on the telegraph wires over the next couple of weeks . Enjoy your stay 😎
