No. Simple.  They are supposed to be trained but under stress the training and common sense go right out of the window.  Anyone who has stood forward on a fox drive know that some.people can and some never will. This is why there have been so many people killed in police shootings. It's no different to the  macho culture in the police that has allowed so many serious crimes to have been committed by police personnel. To go unpunished. Some forces can't sack personnel fast enough. Where is the picture of the bullet impact on the car .

The impact looks odd. IF the projectile hit the wing and skidded along , how did  it chop a hole in the door.?  The projectile hasn't perforated the wing and given the skid mark the projectile would have glanced off past and then away from the car door. ...was it a 12 gauge.?  Years ago I  saw a test of a slug fired at a car.  The projectile went through the outer wing, through the inner wing, through the engine  bulkhead, through the dashboard, through the drivers seat, through the rear door liner and nearly ripped the rear door lock and handle right out of the door. !!!  I  thought that a hand gun had been used.  In a built up area an aimed charge of 36 grms of #3 would have been more than adequate without taking out the local population.

Its hit the first panel, skidded along, then hit the edge of the next panel giving something for the projectile to bite into.

Or it's a second shot.

Firstly, a taser does NOT always put down a "full grown man" especially if they are as high as a kite.

You trying to tell me the dog was jacked up 🤣

I would suggest the officer that was shooting didn't pass his marksmanship test missing an XL Bully at 10 yards

That sounds feasible or maybe they use  cartridges with 2 or 3 slugs in them

Look at the edge of the skid end of panel.  Its pushed out so that tells me there is a hole behind the lump, then gone through to the inside of the panel behind.

Too small for 12g slug. We don't know how many shots had been fired ? Good job they font have full auto. The whole street would have been riddled.

We are criticising these Police Officers unmercifully and the most critical, will never be put into their situation. EVERY week at some shooting ground or other, I witness things that make me believe, a LOT of people should not have a gun, but they have. Regardless of what people believe, the standard of training that those Officers receive is very high, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to train, for what can be, an ever changing situation. Remember, they volunteer to carry a gun ON OUR BEHALF.  There are always going to be mistakes made, and far better decisions made in HINDSIGHT, when the full facts are disclosed  !

Agreed, it's likely it's .223/5.56

Having watched the video doesn't a officer at the start of the video fire a tazer at it first?

I know people on her are indicating it was a cf rifle. But to me it sounds like low powered SG rounds from a shotgun. I can't quite make it out but to me and my limited knowledge it looks like a Benelli.

Again have those commenting here actually watched the video. If you can't even identify the type of firearm used how can you then become the expert on how it should have been dealt with.

In the club I belong too we regularly find holes in the woodwork from practical shooters who shoot every week and compete in many competitions.

Had the dog ran off and mauled a child. There would be a thread about the Police not acting quickly enough.

I used to shoot slugs (Brenneke, not airgun)  and .22-250 rifle at RAF Lightning aircraft and one thing which you can be absolutely certain of is that having struck any projectile will do exactly as it damned well pleases.

Unfortunately, it is also impossible to ensure that those officers who wish to carry and possibly use firearms are doing so for the right reasons - whatever those might be.

as they jump about screaming while waving firearms the only training they receive is in how to make a situation worse!

And you would know   ?     🙄

our local police liaison chap twitching on the end of a tazer speaks for itself or would you like me to really embarrass them!  lol

If all you can do is criticise, what about becoming a 'Special'  perhaps then, you could make some radical changes from within. When it comes to being an embarrassment, you should exceed  !

I'm afraid the Police as an organisation are viewed as a joke these days and a bad one at that. That's not a slur on individual officers, although there are many useless, self serving people within the organisation to.

To be honest, I think it's got so bad, there's very little even a good officer could do, they would probably become very frustrated and more sceptical of their own organisation than an outsider like me.
