countryman
I want to change the bead on my Miroku, is it just a case of trying to get a piece of cloth on it then pliers to turn. Thanks
TIGHTCHOKE
Why do you want to change the bead and what do you hope to gain?

countryman
Maybe my eyes but these tiny metal beads may as well not be there for me, I just seem to shoot better with a bigger bead. 10 minutes ago, Sweet11-87 said: bit of old bike inner tube is better as it gets a better hold. if it wont come easy leave it, youll only snap it of the thread Yes that was my concern, I wonder if you can one that just pushes over the top

bruno22rf
Your bead is a standard 3mm type and should come off with little trouble - I found the beads from A1 tackleshop on the bay of plenty to be pretty good and they have a fair selection. samboy
I never worry about beads. I had a 686 once and the plastic thing fell off while shooting a round of Olympic skeet and i never even noticed it was missing until i put the gun back in its slip. I've had my 694 for over 2 years now and only just noticed that the bead is white.
enfieldspares
In theory and in practice, except for shot at a sitting magpie, or the like, then just like you don't as such see the rear aperture sight on a rifle you shouldn't see the bead on a shotgun. Yes it'll be there in your vision but you should be seeing the moving quarry more so than seeing the bead on the shotgun you are shooting at it with. London Best
I used to shoot with a guy who always removed the bead from any gun he bought.
Gordon R
I find the Easyhit beads are useful for making sure your gun fits you. I have several, but have never noticed it when actually shooting.
BobbyH
I thought the Easy Hit beads were amazing as i thought i was left eye dominant or central vision as i saw 2 barrels with both eyes open. But after doing my instructor course, i found that after i had fitted them, i was looking at the bright green glow of it and not the clay (im just a clay shooter). Im right eye dominant with the gun mounted. So, even though they sort out eye dominance, and they do have their uses....you may end up focusing on the bead, not the clay or intended target. countryman
I’ll find out in a week or two when I try it on a 100 bird sporting
Fellside
The truth is: there is no right or wrong. We all have different eye sight characteristics. Whatever works, as they say, just keep doing it. Personally (for what it’s worth?) I find bigger sporting type beads show up in my peripheral vision better - the target of course being in primary focus. Those fibre optic glow things for me are however distracting, as observed above. If some people find it suits them to remove the bead, or even shoot with ribless guns, it may work for them, so why not. I would say however, these above factors are only a marginal advantage if the gun fits and is mounted consistently.
retromlc
Apply a little heat to the area, it'll unscrew easier
Dougy
I took mine off. And put it back on again. And still couldn't hit owt Being honest, on or off, its the target you should be looking at not a bead.
