fat_jay
See, thats why its so hard to choose,as you get reminded of other albums, the top choices get relegated, now Ten goes above the black album for me..........and now im thinking Edtroducing by Dj Shadow is in with a shout..... MrPhantom
Don't know how you would pick a best ever as others have said...there are just too many to choose. A couple of favourites from waaaay back that I still always listen to are Led Zep 4 and Sticky Fingers by the Stones Never rated the Smiths, Morrissey always irritated me for some reason

Fisherman Mike
Very much depends on your age and taste in music... what you have to remember is that many of the modern era mid 70,s onwards were pretty poor musicians and couldn't really replicate that recording sound live without serious electronic aid. My three in order would have to be Rumours, Bat out of Hell and Hunky Dory
yickdaz
queen INNUENDO being some of the last works from Freddie, and one of my all time favourite songs on it the show must go
Thunderbird
Dog Man Star by Suede Different Class by Pulp Children by The Mission But the trouble is, as people have been saying, it's all subjective and generation based. Music usually has much more than impact on you during your formative years.
bicykillgaz
I've not got an out and out favourite really as I listen to loads of different stuff depending on mood, so I'll break it down into favourite albums from my cd rack Hip-hop- wu-tang clan, enter the 36 chambers (20 years old this year and still better than anything since!) although 'ill'matic' by Nas is a close second. Soul- Otis readings greatest hits, amazingly mature soulful voice for someone who was so young, shame he died at 26! Rock- red hot chilli peppers greatest hits Dance- jungle rewind compilation. Listening to maverick sabre's album a lot at the minute too 'lonely are the brave' and a bit of Phil Collins and Cat Stevens too.
