ging125
I have been using eleys for years and been hearing many stories of the inconsistancies, but never had any problems myself. Finally I have got onto the next batch and they are aweful! I shoot a CZ452 and a 10/22. what do you feed your 22. Thought a poll would be benefical, when I searched I couldn't work out the top choice. Cheers Edited April 17, 2014 by ging125
saddler
Eley &/or Winchester ...only voted for Eley, as no option to select multiple choices

Whitebridges
1. RWS 2. Eley 3. Just tried some SK on targets and they are very accurate. It looks like the bullet is quite hard and they seem to have a little more poke than the two above. I'm yet to try them on the rabbits. minghis
Eley - no problems, yet... All my shooting buddies swear by Winchesters and use nothing else. To be honest I change to HV's (Winchester Lazers) as soon as spring comes and go back to subs for the winter.
telf
i used to use cci,but found they were very tight to chamber so changed to winnies and apart from what i think was a bad batch with them shooting high about 9 months ago have had no problems since, and the anschutzs loves them
fruity
Eleys for my vote , like them so does my cz , only problem I'm finding is getting them in my area no one has never got any stock so have to travel miles to find them
Imperfection
Eley or Winchester.Im not really fussed which although i find the Eley are slightly more accurate, but for rabbit plinking both do the job well.
old_n07
Eley, Winchester or RWS - the 455 like those three the best
kent
SK for me. Had a faulty batch of Winchesters not long back (Rims out of spec) RWS ans SK always come out on top once the range lengthens. At 50yards things are too close to call with all quality ammo in my gun
magman
Eley's first choice as they group better then Winchesters second
Old farrier
Hi Winchester for my sako they seem to suit it and seem to kill better tried all other brands that I've tried However manufacturers are improving all the time so I keep trying the odd box or two All the best Of
malkiserow
I just use the cheapest I can buy. They all seem to shoot fine and next to no change in POI. I've yet to find a bad round for my .
bruno22rf
RWS hp-a good match for the early, higher quality, Eley extra subs.
Dekers
Magtech Winchester RWS It was Magtech for years but the price has gone silly. RWS are slightly more accurate than the Winchester, but Winchester win on HP size and stopping ability. Neither quite match the Magtech for me! Admittedly a good day, and I can't remember if it was 50 or 60 yards but happy enough regardless!
Cannon
Preferences in order 1 - RWS 2 - SK 3 - Eley 4 - Winchester The RWS cloverleaf consistently at 60 yards through the CZ
beanieboy
RWS, but I hope to try SK's as soon as I can get some.
kent
On an aside, how many just test at 50-60 yards? I say this because I fail to see any meaning full differences at that sort of distance with any of the good ones being mentioned here as regards accuracy . If I had to choose .22 lr on terminals alone I should say CCI segmenting without a single shadow of doubt in my mind
bisondan
I use the RWS HPs in my M&P 15-22, cycles no problem.

Shot some sk and the seem very hard and over penetrate What's are the Winchester penetration like? Shot some sk and the seem very hard and over penetrate I like to study terminals and can tell you sk expand very well even at 100 plus. Don't be confused by the size of the hollow point hole. I don't see how you class "over penetrate" on quarry like rabbits when hit with 100 + ft lb with a 40 grain pill you will rarely recover a bullet inside the ribcage or head and need to head towards using some other suitable media. Going away on a tangent a bit I gave some target ammo a go last year on quarry and it pretty much kills the life out of bunnies also (CCI "green tag" if I remember correctly). It also has reduced windage over hunting subs but not vastly and so I wonder if the very deep hollow point in Winchester effects its long range accuracy as I have always failed to get it to perform as good as one might expect past 100. One thing I can say is how a bullet looks means scant little outside the mind of the shooter as regards expanding

If I had to choose .22 lr on terminals alone I should say CCI segmenting without a single shadow of doubt in my mind I tested my new Sako Quad .22 barrel with five brands kent, hoping CCI's would be best and if not Winchesters (hence two groups of each): Settling on Eley's, I took out to 100m and swapped the barrel over to compare with the HMR. At 100m I was on the bottom post of the scope (essentially fifth mil dot) with the .22:
