JDog
The good people of Lincolnshire have not yet heard of my professional services so I have to return to the Cotswolds to earn a crust otherwise I would be destitute. This week I went back for three days work leaving today free for shooting.Steveyg ruthlessly rejected my advances for a day out today in favour of crow bashing so I was left on my own.The estate around the village where I used to live is special to me and I have kept the shooting. Much to my surprise two fields had been harvested and already rolled. These were barley fields. At 11:30 no birds were present at 12:30 there were 200 birds on and good lines in. Where to set up was a quandary. Either the sun in my face and the wind at my back or vice versa. I chose wind at my back.Birds came from a long way off and decoyed well. These birds have not been shot at for Six months or more. I shot from 1:30 to 5:30 with hardly any quiet spells and after a long pick up I had 106 in the bag.Pictures will follow tomorrow when I get home. From whence they came. The bag all neatly lined out.
