Davyo
1st it was Hunter, then Musto's ,then Seeland and now Harkila and Le Chameau!!!! After disappointment with Musto's splitting within 7 weeks & 2 pairs of Seelands failing within 12mths I have just stuck with Muck boots. However they are really hot & the vibrum sole is treacherous in the wet on any smooth surface.I started to look at Harkila and Chameau (£150/£200 mark) but put off buy some of the latest reviews.Seems they are all going down the cheap labour route & the quality is suffering as a result.Aigle seem the only one at the moment who are providing any kind of quality,so who has them and what's your thoughts & most importantly who has had fairly new ones, say in the last 12mths. Smokersmith
In our group we have noticed the demise of Le Chameau ..... for years I wore a hand me down pair from my father, and then bought a pair 10 years ago that I still have. Rubber is a bit cracked around the Achilles, but they still look the part on a dry day. Fellow guns who have bought LC in the last 2 years have had issues ... all of them. I have an Aigle Outlast pair bought 3 years ago that are wearing well and I expect to last a long time.
robbiep
Not particularly stylish, but I'd seriously recommend Dunlop wellies. They're pretty cheap, and even with getting a lot of hammer a pair will last me 2-3 years. That includes daily use on smallholding and for dogwalking, work parties, shooting days, the lot ! spandit
My Dunlop wellies fell apart within a year. I've been wearing Grubs since and no failure so far (must have had them a year and I wade through brambles in them on a regular basis)

ben0850
Just been looking at these on Uttings Feel your pain Davyo however I have just returned a pair of Aigle Benyl to Uttings as they leaked like a bloody sieve! My harkila foresters touch wood have done two seasons picking up and are still good, problem is they are just too warm for milder weather. MrDaveO84
You won't be disappointed, I was going to get chameau but the aigle's felt more comfy to me. One thing I will say is the 5mm neoprene is very warm if you don't like having hot feet. I think they do a 3mm version as well
Cosd
Aigle Prestige are still hand made I believe
sitsinhedges
Just buy cheap wellies and chuck em when they start to leak. £200 for a pair of wellies is bloody ridiculous.
Duckandswing
Bucklers boots for me. Although, like muck boots they are exceptionally warm.

Sympathise with davyo - been down the whole wellie route with all the brands - they now only last a few months compared with those made a few years ago, the only way to get a years wear now is to get another pair on return..Aigle included. I have a pair of 28yr old Dunlops that I wore mining - they keep my feet warm through their acquired radioactivity. After years of work, caving and farm **** they still go on........... Paul T
I'm very hard on footwear (due to a bad back) and just wreck boots 'n shoes. I bought a pair of Toggi wellies for around £80-90 last year and they are ace. I just thought they would last me a few months, but they are very well made and can easily cope with my lumbering gait! My only regret is I didn't push the boat out and get the zippered ones!

I've had Aigle Parcours ISO for around a year and no problems at all, admittedley I haven't worn them over the summer but they are worn pretty much daily through spring, autumn and winter. Very comfortable and warm.

Jbob
Never seen the point in wearing £200 wellies, they all wear out and break. I have a pair of dunlops with steel toe caps that have lasted 5+ yrs. Best pair of boots I have ever owned and didnt break the bank to buy either. bodach
For me Toggi wellington boots, I will be getting another pair soon as the rubber is starting to perish on the side flaps, not bad after 5 years of walking the dogs, fishing and shooting, will be my third pair and at £80 over 5 years that's cheap foot wear. mudpatten
If perishing is an issue with your rubber boots, whatever the make, clean them and give them a quick squirt over with an aerosol can of silicone spray, the cheap stuff sold as car interior cleaner/back to black type of thing, every couple of months. They`ll last a lot longer!
