Snoozer
Hi, What method do you use to get your Guns from the house to the car and back in again ? Seesm a silly question but i don't fancy alerting some of my neighbours to the fact i will have a Shotgun in the house. A Gun slip gives it away without to much imagination so was looking to get a case probably like the one below which should house a Shotgun made up. Or is it common place to use the case it came in ? but that means the Gun will be taken apart quite often and i was wondering if this might have a long term effect on any components ? What method do you guys/gals employ ??
Hendrix's rifle
I just put it in a slip. Any dirty looks I jus5 laugh... your not breaking the law? If I come home with slip in one hand and bag of rabbits on my back the dogs go crazy but there enough to put people off saying a great deal... again, nothing wrong. They want to be funny about it, let them
Seadog1408
Doesn't everyone have a private drive???!, Jeeves just carries mine in the slip. Mike
Prospero
Keeps the neighbours on their toes, they are less inclined to shout over the fence when they see what I have... 😆
big bad lindz
I don't think that breaking the shotgun down and using the supplied case will have any long term effect on components. I don't have a problem with neighbours but when I have been away in my caravan I just used the slip even if people in the caravan site see me I am well within my rights to transfer my gun when and how I like I don't care what they think, most people wont know what a gun slip is anyway. walshie
Just carry it in its slip.
HDAV
Carry it a rolled up carpet to disguise them, neighbours won't think anything odd about you carrying a big roll or carpet to and from your car at regular intervals.... Ollieollie
In the slip, i am very cautious before i actually come into view and choose my moment, if some of the scrotums round here realise there's a shooter local they'll be returning later
Guest stevo
As long as it's cased. I have one golden rule when loading the car up And that is....... The gun is the last thing in And The first thing out
wascal
Seesm a silly question but i don't fancy alerting some of my neighbours to the fact i will have a Shotgun in the house. It wouldn't raise any eyebrows in sleepy Norfolk ,all my neighbours have guns.
wymberley
Keep calm and carry on using the slip. However, depending on the size of the vehicle/available space/amount of extra kit (decoyed pigeon shooting) I'll sometimes use a case to avoid any possibe damage to the gun. GingerCat
Neighbors? What's this word you speak of? A slip has always done well or a nice hard case but anyone who isint blind will guess what it is.
Dougy
I have a Toyota pickup, what i have done is cut a trap door behind the drivers seat. It's covered by the grey carpet so it's not visible from the windows. I have had someone make me a water tight seal out of silicone hose from work so there's no water egress if I drive through any deep puddles. I have also dug a tunnel from my cupboard under the stairs that my gun cabinets in, under the front room, across the front of the house, under the road and into a manhole cover. When I'm going shooting i park over the manhole cover, then take my guns through the tunnel under the house and slip them through the trap door into my pickup. Nobody has ever seen me load any guns or shooting gear into or out of my house.
Guest
I just put it in a gun slip walk out and put it in the car .why bother what the neighbors think . If you take it out in a case they will still wonder what you have in .you never now they may ask . With a gun slip they already now. .why worry about it
Dougy
The neighbours round me gossip more about the women that come into my house when the wife's away. They don't find anything else exiting enough to talk about. Lol

DRWC
If you are genuinely bothered about what your neighbours think then put it in a hard case. It won't damage the gun. I live in Zone 1 and just use a slip. I once had a guy ask me if I had had a good day, nobody else has ever seemed to care
Davyo
Wasnt so much the neighbours for me, its the kids nursery right outside the house.More concerned them seeing dead stuff than the Slipped guns.Got round this by loading/unloading in the garage, auto roller door so no hassle for me and guns/game go out the back so no one sees. grahamch
I have a large bright blue Shakespeare rod holdall, takes the auto and ou and looks like am off fishing which the neighbours know I do. Put guns in slip inside holdall and zip it up
