Squirrel73
I was looking for a new magnet and came across "pigeon shooting Leicestershire" I paid £52 on 11th July and recieved the confirmation email. All good. Waited 7 days without hearing anything so sent an email of enquiry. The email wasn't replied to so I rang the mobile number and spoke to Matt who said he was having a problem with supply of the motors and could I text the order number to him. I'd already included that in the email I sent but I thought ok. Sent the text with order number and pointed out that I need the magnet for next weekend (29&30thjuly) and if he couldn't supply it then I'd like a refund. No reply. I am a polite and understanding person but I now get the feeling I'm flogging a dead horse.
rob-d
i hate that, if they dont have the stock then do not take payment!!! if he had said to you in the beginning that there were issues you would of been more understanding and you could of made an informed choice. And maybe you would of used him in the future!! bad service ultimately ends up costing them buisiness!

wildrover77
I run a specialist target shooting business. To hold one of every item we sell would require stock with a value of around 600k. We specialise in small bore target equipment and have a turnover of 150k per year. We cannot afford to stock everything. Either from the point of view of working capital, warehouse space or insurance costs.
mel b3
I run a specialist target shooting business. To hold one of every item we sell would require stock with a value of around 600k. We specialise in small bore target equipment and have a turnover of 150k per year. We cannot afford to stock everything. Either from the point of view of working capital, warehouse space or insurance costs. lots of businesses run this way , its a modern and perfectly acceptable way to do things , we make mostly bespoke items , so carry very little stock . the issue is that the op has had his money taken , and then been ignored , then hes been fobbed off with an excuse . being fobbed off can often leave you feeling ripped off(it certainly does with me) . poor communication by a seller is infuriating , its also damned disrespectful to your customer. most customers are pretty understanding if you cant deliver on time , as long as youre honest and straightforward with them . we rarely take payment until items are ready for delivery(unless the customer just pays automatically when they order) , and if we do take payment but cant deliver on time , an instant and full refund is offered . pretty much all of our customers are repeat customers , and both us and them are pretty relaxed about the financial side of things . quality and service are the important things . Squirrel73
Well said Mel b3. That is spot on.And thank you for your kind offer of the loan of your magnet. I don't mind waiting for a while for a delivery as long as you are kept informed. I'm a tree surgeon and would never leave a customer hanging around waiting for me if I'm running late or a job gets cancelled due to weather. I always keep people up to date. It's courteous and it's not much to ask but means a lot and earns you a good reputation. I'm currently pursuing a refund from Matt Cole.
walshie
I paid for a day's pigeon shooting with him a couple of years ago. He dumped us in a field with no pigeons in it then at the end of the day said goodbye and couldn't care less we had totally blanked. Terrible customer service. team tractor
Just go direct. I had to in the end after being let down for a few weeks. He buys them off AA decoys who is an excellent bloke. I went to collect one from his house in derby and he'd only just painted it lol , it was that fresh. He went the extra mile as he'd only just received the motors he made it on the spot. He's a pilot in the day so doesn't need the work but he loves it .
Velocette
I'll second that,,I've bought all my gear from him and he's a pleasure to deal with.
super sharp shooter
Myself and a mate booked a day with Matt and much the same. Dumped in a fiel with no birds and no lines that we could see. We packed up by dinner and went to the pub. Matt called us to see how we were getting in to which I said I'm in the pub he then said I will give you a second day for free in a better field. Why not put us in that field today. Sounds like he is trying to drop ship goods, so hold no stock then get his supplier to send direct to his customer. Nothing wrong with it until his supplier is out of stock and not telling him. Then he gets stick from Customers.
manton
The proper way to run a business like this, is the way several top firms dealing in tools and other items do. When you receive an order you notify the customer of how long it will be before you have the article requested in stock and to give them the opportunity to cancel the order if they are not happy with this.
