What? He didn't just shut down the biased BBC reporter Emily Maitliss in a completely justified and acceptable way? He wasn't correct in defending his scientific and medical advisors from having to express their political opinion, that they weren't there to talk about?

What exactly am I deluded about?

Well to start with you quote the wrong journo, but anyway.

I meant he’s deluded in thinking he can draw a line under this. What our illustrious genius PM is missing is the fact it’s no longer about Cummings, it’s about him and his government. The irony is this supposedly half whit press are feeding BoJo more and more rope to hang himself with.

Just wait until the COVID enquiries begin ...

Ah yes I did name the wrong journo, I'll give you that.

It's already dying in the press. In a day or two it will be forgotten. Damaging, yes perhaps, for now, but we're a long way from the  next election and Boris can make a lot of people very happy simply by refusing to extend the withdrawal agreement at the end of June. That will banish many sins.

A Line is well and truly drawn under it if you chose to accept it or not.

And with regard Boris Johnson and his Government, watch how this wont be a big deal. and as for your final prediction, that is going to be another non event.

The press and media have done themselves some serious harm, with their disgusting behaviour from start to Finnish on this non event. If they had been in other countries they would have been locked up for the social distancing when heckling cummings. It would be nice to see justice prevail here too.

Yeah, here you go.

Don't worry, you don't need to watch it all, he's quite abrupt . . .  "Ben Kentish from LBC"  lol.

You should apply for one of Cumming's job offers with that second idea. A surefire support policy!

I'm an Engineer, but I'd systematically take you apart in a court room, I just hope for your sake you never find yourself in front of a professional in court - you'd be toast!

There appear to be a number of posters on both sides of the argument, who this would apply to, including yourself.

If Cummings has broken any law, give him his day in court. A less than useless barrister would make toast of the CPS brief.

The thread started by slagging Cummings - I believe he deserved some stick, but not the total abuse that has followed. It now appears to have sunk to slagging Johnson, for failing to do what Starmer hasn't even addressed in his own party.

Please tell me it isn't about Brexit. It anyone wants to deny that, I would need to see a polygraph strapped to their arm.  If it failed to register porkies, I would need to demand another and another until the truth emerged.

Yes, move on to give the public, media etc something else we've cocked up. Why stop a winning formula. No time to dwell on previous cock-ups when we have so many to get through.
And when the Covid 19 mine has been exhausted we can start on our Brexit plans. There'll be plenty to cock-up there.

I'm not aware of anyone suggesting Cummings should end up in court? That said, the fact that Cummings didn't break the law is not a credible defence in this context.

This isn't about Cummings, it's about our PM doing the right thing, he really has handled this so badly and has now painted himself into a corner somewhat. Do you honestly think there is anyone else in government that Boris would have taken a hit like this for in order to protect?

You're probably right that this is about Brexit, Boris needs Cummings to close out Brexit for him and that's why he's still there.

Agreed.

There are plenty of negative posters on this forum and Retsdon is one of the very worst.

The big deal is Boris revealed himself for the **** that he is. It's no longer about Cummings, it's about a lying spineless *** that lied to the public just to gain office.

For all the hatred against journos, which I get, let us not forget that our PM is sprung from the same stock.

Ah so now we get to the truth, you just want to use it to get an excuse to stab Boris in the back. I suppose you will be supporting the traitor Ed Davey on June 12th and this is what the whole silly episode is  really about.?

Gordon it is about Brexit, you are right, the remoaners want Cummings out of the way before June 12th and the man foolishly loaded the gun and handed it to them

No Vince, I want to see the democratic will of the people enacted. We need to sock it to the EU. Metaphorically speaking there is no need to go for Boris from behind, head on is fine.
