Where's JDog?

He got tired of the forum being constantly derailed by a small number of trolls, people who don’t shoot  dominating shooting threads... people who don’t have dogs derailing the dog threads. He quit around Feb/March from memory, I messaged via Jacko. It was a shame to lose JDog and Jacko, the later broke the rules due to being unable to deal with the constant trolling. They were some of the few people here who posted actual content and not just promotion for their YouTube channel etc.

I think we have to accept that members come and go and some stay longer than others , another one who was a regular and a first class pigeon shooter was my fellow county man ( Motty ) not only was he a master at pigeon shooting he was also a very keen wildfowler , I believe he had some personal problems but he was certainly missed when he no longer posted.

To be honest i think if you took the off topic section out you would lose quite a few members because that's the only thread they post in they don't actually  shoot

I agree , with having poor health myself I don't realy read the other topics much . Used to realy enjoy them . Found them helpful.  Don't even read the for sale stuff.

I enjoy the banter  from some members  . And the lad from America when he posts  stuff .

I help run a Facebook group on a camera I use  24,000 members from all over the world , love seeing picture from different  countries , I learned  something a couple of years ago . Our  humble  little sparrow is almost world  wide . How amazing is that  the " wee Spuggy " is famous.

Or people who will insist on derailing threads with shooting-related anecdotes from 1970 that have no relevance to today.  Or people who reply to a query with "I have no idea"

I've found that use of the block button makes the forum far more readable.  Not blocking people whose views I disagree with - I have no particular wish to live in an echo chamber. But rather people who fit the above categories.

Then use the block button as you say and you wont see them

Sad if that is the case. Much respect that he left quietly with no fuss unlike some previous members who have made a song and dance about how ‘PW has gone down hill blah, blah and I’m leaving’.

Im one mainly posts in off topic. As I have shot in over ten years I have to add to most of the other topics but really enjoy reading what my fellow PW members post as this keeps me touch with something I enjoy

Were they sold ??.

Can't post my thoughts on most of the threads or I'd become one of the fallen.

I think jdog thought the same and backed off.

i dont think so ....i think they were as a prize for guessing the right answer on something...........and i believe he tried to get rid of them twice............but to be fair ...they were very difficult guessing quizzes.................lots of interest ..dont get me wrong....and im sure the right answer was there somewhere.....

i used to make bespoke handmade knives for to give away to PW members......JDog used to try and get rid of his underpants.......

just shows the calibre of the man.....standing on the shoulders of giants ..:good:..an awesome contributor....a legend...

Lets hope he reads this and bounces back.

Had enough of the doom and gloom lately.
