I thought that it would be nice to have a ride up to Dumfries and Galloway next week for a few days as the forecast looks nice.

Looked again a few days later and get this๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™„

I blame Labour as they never anything right ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ย

Hello, i always go by the Met office web site, If you put in the place or area you can get forecasts by the hour or 2, up to a few days in advance, Anyone have a Zambretti Forecaster, ?? you need a good Barometer and wind direction then you can alter the Zambretti to those readings and get a weather forecast of sorts,ย

The Met Office has been particularly sketchy in it's accuracy these past few months with drastic changes in forecast happening from one day to the next.ย

I had a FITASC shoot this past Sunday and on checking the weather on Saturday evening it showed torrential rain and thunderstorms for most of Sunday. On this advice I loaded up the car with weatherproofs and gave the gunstock a good waxing to help with the wood soaking up moisture. I checked again Sunday AM while on route and the forecast had changed to light drizzle till 10:30 improving to sun thereafter. I had to withstand most of the day sweating in waterproof trousers in bright sunshine.ย

How could they get it so wrong with just 12 hours to go?ย

I do at home but I don't fancy driving 4 hours to see what the weather is doing.

All the media get their data from the Met Office, but attempt to put their own spin on it. BBC Weather site is dire. Went to Devon and Dorset recently and the day before we set off the forecast changed from rain to sun, back to rain for the first few days. Luckily, two of them were wrong and we had fine weather. The ten day forecast is awful. One day it forecast rain at 12.00 noon for one hour, ten days ahead. Now that is a joke..

Isn't it the case that if you are in Fort William and can see the summit of Ben Nevis, it's about to rain.

....... and if you can't see the summit, it is raining.

At one stage when i was at the pit that was my job on a Monday morning, wind them up, top up the ink and change the chart. Still doesn't forecast the weather just pressure differences.ย

On our local weather i t v station the weather girl seem to have great joy in telling us that the met office have issued a Yellow weather warning as they forecasted rain for the following day , so what are we supposed to do ? , it wouldn't be the first day I have been out in the rain and just about everyone else come to that , then come the next night she then tell us how lucky we were because the weather front kept a bit more South than expected, mind you , who would want them to get it right every time ?ย ย

Positively chilly!

119F when I left Phoenix on Friday . Thatโ€™s 48.33 in EU speak!

And two days previously we drove through the edge of a mountain storm which, according to the TV weather man, laid down 14 inches of rain in one hour!

Its all over the place the Azores high keeps shifting about. We have been over to the Channel islands dodging the shifting weather. Got back to Salcombe and were stuck for a week. Then over to the River Tamar where we were hiding for a couple of nights. Just hoping there is an Indian Summer.ย
