TIGHTCHOKE
The long awaited enquiry in to the goings on behind the marvellous Captain Sir Tom Moore's charity fundraising has been published. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c86qdq67dd5o It is unsurprising in its findings. I hope his daughter and her family are rightfully ashamed, THEY spoilt his GOOD NAME.
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, Absolute Disgrace , I doubt they will worry on Captain Toms nice little earner going into their bank,
Gordon R
I note that they were very careful in the wording of their response. It appears to be a truthful statement which completely avoids addressing the main issue.
Bobba
“Misconduct and Mismanagement” is the phraseology of the report. It is silent on whether any laws have been broken. Only time will tell, although the Charity Commission seem to be considering action to recover some of the monies paid to Sir Tom’s daughter and son-in-law. It SMELT FISHY once it all took off, I guess the family felt they were owed something? Once they started to build spa's and look at justifying them by "offering" them to the greater public it was GOING DOWNHILL RAPIDLY................ And without the CHARITY that was set up the books would have been either NOT WRITTEN or would have DISAPPEARED WITHOUT TRACE. The Family and that awful daughter of the GREAT MAN have a LOT to answer for.

TIGHTCHOKE
I do wonder quite how they thought they would get away with it? Brass neck it used to be called, I think they have twice been asked to make some form of remuneration, not very forthcoming so far. I think she is something of a "social climber" and must have seen the opportunity to "raise her profile" by using her fathers "fame". The one I feel sorry for is the grandson who seemed genuine. Maybe they have got away with it at least financially which was their main aim? Obviously nothing else counted in their scheme?
Mungler
From Day the son in law appeared extremely less than straightforward and the daughter someone used to the easy life. Never trust anyone who makes up a double barrel surname.
marsh man
Just read a bit in our paper where it stated the Charity Commission has published a highly critical report about the running of the Captain Tom Foundation , amongst other instances of misconduct by the veteran's daughter Hannah Ingram - Moore and her husband Colin , it stated that the proceeds of the book Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day would go to the foundation , whereas the proceeds of £1. 4 Million were paid into there own company Club Nook and up to now , no money have been paid into the charity , what a utter disgrace and they should hold there heads in shame MM
clangerman
stones from the charity commission who if they really cared about abuse of funds their first port of call would be the outrageous wages drawn by heads of charities!

For a start, what's with this 'captain' bit? Surely he was retired and not from HM's RN.

Many officers kept using their rank rather than reverting to plain Mr after they left the service, some still do.
