Road Rage?

So this morning I was on the school run into Edinburgh on a very busy "A" road when I witnessed some overly aggressive behaviour by a driver.

There were two vehicles in front, one a Skoda Yeti and the other an Audi 80 convertible with a very noisy exhaust. The lead vehicle was the yeti which was keeping up with traffic at about 30mph and as far as I could see was driving perfectly normally. The Audi 80 sat in a very aggressive manner right on the tail of the yeti always weaving in and out to try and overtake the yeti but being very aggressive. We could hear in our car his engine revving.

He eventually overtook and cut right in front of the yeti. Now I don't know what happened next but the Audi slammed on the brakes, came to a halt and sat at 45 degrees to the carriageway to block it, forcing a long line of traffic to come to a halt, he then jumped out and attempted to "discuss" the situation with the yeti driver. All of us who could see what he was doing and some started tooting. He jumped back in and drove off.

I have both cars registrations. Now I have no dog in this fight so is it worth dropping into the police station about this or put it down to another idiot on the road?

I think I can see the problem here straight away. The driver of the Audi should not have been driving that car at all! He should have been driving a BMW.

Ok, before I get death threats from the BMW drivers on here, I am only joking... ok, there may be a smidgeon of truth in it

Father Christmas is bringing me a dash cam in a couple of weeks time ,it will record this sort of stuff.

A couple of weeks ago on the A19 just South of Middlesborough I saw a small wagon jousting with a Golf and actually force him off the carriageway and down a slip road.

I would give 101 a call and give the details.

same here i would report it under the 101 call line

today that driver discussed it, may be next week he drags the bloke out of the car and gives him a battering

seen that happen a few times over the years and at Christmas time people are even more wound up than normal so even easier to snap

happened to me once ten years ago when i was driving a jumbo transit, the guy stopped the rood dead and kicked off, even tried to get into the van to get at me and then started to elbow the windows to smash them, thats when i got out of the van with a tyre iron in my hand and at six foot three and very very big with it he decided to leave and drove off

Ile bite, you say you witnessed some aggressive behaviour then in the next sentence you said the other driver was driving perfectly normal as far as you could see, so which was it. How do you know the driver of the Yeti didn't give the driver of the Audi the bird or something similar. There's always 2 sides to every story, there must be some squeaky clean drivers on this forum.

Many moons ago one of our shooting club members was in a group of 4 at a pistol competition. On the way back they got squashed / hassled on an A road by young bucks in the wide wheel big exhausted Ford Escort, the young bucks were shaking fists and generally threatening with their behavior.

My mate took his .45 out and held it up at the window = all became very calm and the Escort very quickly left the scene.

An armed society is a polite society = a proverb of the Americans.

Your mate who held up the gun was a completely irresponsible idiot.
