Shooting masterclass from Jdog

Jdog invited me and Lloydi out for a days shooting in the Cotswolds. By 13:00 we still hadn't found any birds in numbers and so in a last ditch attempt we split up with Lloydi going to one end of a weak flight line and us going to the other. Here are two videos, one of Jdog thanking us for lessons learned and the second of the actual shooting.

Myself and Jdog set up with our back to a hedge in the shade with our decoys out in the sun. The decoys were set up randomly in two patterns, one on the left with a floater, and one on the right with my FF5 and another floater. Amazingly they started coming in almost straight away and I witnessed some fantastic shots from Jdog.

I shoot game but don't have the permission to pigeon shoot as often as I would. Jdog is extremely knowledgable and taught me a lot about his master craft.

After a few hours we called Lloydie who unfortunately hadn't had as much success, he joined us but unfortunately the birds started to dry up and we finished shortly after. However in that time he certainly had the most memorable shot of the day, sadly not caught on camera!

Below is an introduction from Jdog where he thanks me and Lloydie for the important lessons we shared - such as how to set up your new flapper upside down and in how important it is to make sure you have a charged battery when you bring out your new rotary! The second video is of the actual days shooting!

I hope the video was not too self-congratulatory on my part.

OJW was very modest in his post. Once I had bullied him into shooting more instinctively he shot really well including four excellent doubles.

The pair of them were excellent company and I can easily forgive the birds on the rotary going backwards and the bird on the flapper appearing to nose dive into the ground as it was set the wrong way up.

Those of you who are interested in Lloydi's shot of the day should send him a pm.
